BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra on Thursday presided over a ceremony to open a new temporary road running parallel to Klong Bangkhen which will help ease traffic on Vibhavadi Rangsit and Pahonyothin roads.

In his address to participants at the ceremony, the governor said that the city administration has several projects aimed to ease traffic in Bangkok and Thonburi with some of the projects already completed and others still under construction.

He cited the Pahonyothin-Rattanakosinsompoj road linking Vibhavadi Rangsit with Pahonyothin or Soi Pahonyothin 49/1 which was open to traffic on December 23, last year.

He said that the Klong Bangkhen road will provide another alternative to motorists travelling between Vibhavadi Rangsit and Pahonyothin roads which will help ease traffic on Ngamwongwan, Wongwien Bangkhen, Kaset intersection and areas surrounding Ngamwongwan road, Vibhavadi Rangsit, Pahonyothin and Chaengwattana roads.

The Klong Bangkhen temporary road is a two-lane asphalted road, about two kilometers long and 8 metres wide.

Perfect example of how and where to drive your car on a new road

You should always be in the middle of the road straddling the yellow lines that are there for decoration and nothing else

Sorry, but the picture of the girl doing the signing, seems to be giving the bird

Doesn't anyone a Thai PBS bother to proof what is published ?

Temporary means that it will disintegrate during the rainy season since they didn't bother to put down a proper base structure for the road.

It also means that someone's favorite nephew will be awarded a contract to patch the road every month or so at an exorbitant cost.

I bet this picture was taken close to a Thai Pub, on Friday afternoon around 5 pm. Sorry I mean, on any afternoon.

Good that he can put down a temporary road.

BAD that he cannot fix footpaths in Bangkok! Guess he doesn't have any family or friends who are physically disabled! When you pay peanuts (even massive amounts of peanuts) you get monkeys.
