You can get one from your state where you live, I got mine from CA it stated this was not a nation wide check

But immigration did not care , you do not need FBI clearance.

The subject is getting confusing once again.

If one is applying for a non imm o-a multi entry visa via a Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate in one's home country, then a police report is necessary.

If one is applying for an extension of stay or a non-imm o within Thailand then a police report is not necessary nor required by your local immigration office.

    If you carefully read the stamp headed "Retirement" you will note it reads "Extension of stay permitted up to .........." ( or very similar words) The "Retirement" relates to the reason the extension
