Are broken Hatari fan blades replaceable ?

Featured Replies

I have dropped accidentally Hatari fan, and one of the blades is broken. I see it is very easy to take it off, and I think I saw the replacements somewhere, but can not recall where it was.

If not, I can probably fix it with some super glue.

It's been a while but the last time I replaced one I got it at Tesco Lotus. Should be no problem finding them if not there anymore.

Buy a new blade - just need to know the size across 14", 16" or 18" and most shops selling electric goods will have them for sale.

Seen in Home Pro probably available in most large similar stores .

Amorn has a huge selection of them on the second floor. But what I'd like to know is 'why?'

I never had a fan blade break in my entire life until I moved to Thailand. And now, one breaks every other year without being dropped or knocked! Cheap enough to replace (I think I paid 60 baht a few months ago for one) but why do they break so often?

Amorn as said above has loads in every branch .At their branch in Tesco /Lotus by Meechok plaza ,they are on the ground floor at the back .

Thank you very much ! That's really helpful !

I have never heard or seen shops called Amorn.

Which branch would be the closest one to Nimmanhemin ?

Amorn has many blades .... just take the old one along and check for the type & size ....

Amorn in the BigC at the airport has the fan blades for sure. Ground floor on the left.

Thank you everyone for the advice. It proves that this forum can be very useful sometimes.

I bought exactly the same blade, at Amporn shop near old city and computer plaza, for 90 baht. Seems like they have many different sizes, brands, blades, fan cages etc etc. A lot of good electronic stuff too.

This topic can be closed, thank you.

What about a broken swing mechanism. Does anyone fix those?

Then on the other hand I have at least 6 dotted around the house with 7 years constant use. Had 2 give up on me but never a blade break. Suspect you are just unlucky when it comes to fan blades but lucky overall. 60 baht every year is a result!

Could be... smile.png Never had a fan motor go south on us, but all are under five years old. We have two fans in the house whose blades have never broken, and two that go through a new blade almost every year! All are from the same maker. Perhaps the shaft is out of center and causes some sort of stress over time?

How one breaks a fan blade is by taking it off for cleaning and dropping the damn thing on a tile floor....something I stupidly did a couple of hours ago. Bought a new one (75 baht) about an hour ago on the second floor of the joint referenced in Tywais' post above. They have a whole lot of replacement blades for several brands including Hatari.

Even though replacement blades are plentiful and quite inexpensive, I'd advise never trying to glue the broken blade together again. Having the blade glued just a little bit out of perfect would cause the blade to wobble erratically, and would quickly (probably) cause the blade to break again, only this time pieces of plastic could be thrown through the grill, possibly causing other damage or injury. It's not worth the risk.

Was in Tesco Lotus yesterday and saw two big stacks of Hatari blades. I'm sure I've seen them elsewhere too!

You did not follow the instructions. Can't just put Chinese superglue on a Thai fan. :)

Don't glue it , it will go out of balance & overload the motor and burn you house down man. Have you tried there website? But as the other posters have mentioned they are available at most major elec supplies.

Why?

For the same reasons that car batteries do not last more than two years, kitchen and bathroom faucets rust / corrode to death after a few years, incandescent light bulbs burn out after a few months, windows and sliding doors leak.

Answer? Simple. TIT. This is Thailand.
