SURAT THANI:-- Ferries to and from Koh Samui will be increased to cope with the extra tourists at the upcoming Songkran Festival.

Port area manager Sompong Sandee said that there would be three extra crossings in both directions from Donsak to the island to cope with the extra numbers, reports Thairath.

In addition if it proves necessary there is provision to increase the crossings further so that both visitors to the island and locals returning home for the Thai New Year do not have to wait excessively at the terminals.

Booths have also been set up by several police authorities to help with the large influx of tourists to help with safety and any problems that may arise.

Hope they stop water fights on the ferries ...it may cause them to sink. gigglem.gif .

Why run EXTRA Ferries?

Just Overload them and stand by for the Insurance Claims.

I have to say well done to Seatran. Turned up at the ferry terminal on Sunday at 10am expecting a long wait but was on my way to Donsak on the 1030 ferry.
