PHUKET: -- With the demolition of two of Phuket’s most iconic beach clubs on Surin Beach imminent, it’s time to pull out your sexy white clothes for Twinpalms Group’s ‘One Last Time’ beach party at 8pm on Saturday.

“It will be our last chance to say thank you to those who have enjoyed, over the years, the utopia that rose along the Surin Beach shore, as well as the incredible dedication from all our employees who made it possible,” Twinpalms Group General Manager Olivier Gibaud told the Phuket Gazette today.

With the opening of Catch Beach Club by Twinpalms more than a decade ago, Surin Beach became well-known as Phuket’s most exciting and fashionable beach, with Catch and Bimi leading the way in bringing fabulous dining and seaside experiences to beach lovers from around the world, Twinpalms explained in a statement to the press today.

Why aren't the " owners " of these clubs using public land not being arrested ?

12 years with no rent, just brown envelopes.

Why not arrest the officials who allowed this illegal use of public land.

Because all these public officials are on the gravy train. Pigs in the tough comes to my mind. One hand washes the other also comes to my mind.

Do you have EVIDENCE which supports your allegations ?

If so PUBLISH FACT (using your own name/address) not made up nonsense

From the original article - ,The beach clubs were among a number of businesses swept up in the National Council for Peace and Order’s (NCPO) campaign to ‘clean up’ Phuket beaches, demanding that local officials remove any and all illegal establishments from the beaches'

One would assume that local officials didn't let them occupy public land out of the kindness of their hearts.

These businesses are on public land - this fact is not in dispute.

That means the officials that allowed them to be built, and remain in operation, were either corrupt, incompetent, or neglected their duty.

I agree, the allegation of "corruption" requires evidence, however, the simple fact that the businesses were built, and allowed to operate on public land, means the officials involved have not acted to stop them, and at the very least, should be fired, and for that, the evidence is the building and business being on public land and being allowed to remain for so long.

Public land or private land.....who really cares....tens of thousands of tourists will remember their times there, good or bad and still talk about it to their friends. That is what makes it iconic.

Bit like Walking Street in Pattaya. One for the bucket list for those who have never been.
