I just transferred some money from my home country to my Bangkok Bank Account. During Songkran all the banks are closed so when will it go into my account and what exchange rate will they choose? Monday next weeks rate or the Tuesday before Songkran rate?

Depends on how sent but will likely arrive Monday or Tuesday depending on method and the rate of exchange will be that of the time it is received in Thailand.

Sent online today by me with Citibank. Usually when I do this during the AM on the day it arrives on the same day in the PM, just wondering how Songkran affects it.

In that case you are talking about SWIFT I suspect, rather than the cheaper but slower ACH using Bangkok Bank. In years past banks were not allowed to remain closed more than 3 days but have not seen any mention of that recently so expect will not be credited until Monday and the rate of exchange will either be that now posted or any change at the time processed on Monday (Thailand time).

Don't spend too much time worrying about it. You have already sent the transfer, and it is irrevocable. You will get whatever you get.

It'll be in the queue so yes, probably Monday. I did a mid-week ACH recently via BB NY branch. Couple days for my bank to process, then we went into the weekend. It reflected in my local BB account about 10am Monday morning.

It will should be credited to your account on Monday. Exchange rate will be for the date it is received and could also depend upon the time of the day it is processed.

Hello, I am updating the thread.

The money appeared in my account this evening and it was at this evenings TT rate (Monday Evening). Thank you all, you were actually all correct, cheers.
