BANGKOK, 22 April 2016 (NNT) - The Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister's Office and the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) have singed a memorandum of understanding, formally joining forces in solving public complaints.

The signing ceremony took place at the Government Public Relations Department. The signatories were the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Pol Gen Ek Angsananont and President of the TRF, Prof. Dr. Suthipun Jitpimolmard.

Pol Gen Ek said the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister Office and the TRF have agreed to conduct a research project based on public complaints to come up with proper solutions.

The two agencies will share their ideas and information with each other before conducting the research. They will first focus their attention on problems affecting the well-being of the public, before proceeding to other issues.

The cooperation is expected to enable the government to answer public needs more efficiently.

problems affecting the well-being of the public

I'll go first: the Royal Thai Police. Its structure, its harsh organisational culture, its corruption, its poor policies and operational practices, its lack of ethics are some of the biggest problems affecting the well-being of the Thai public today.

I'm sure you're right, but it'll never happen. Too many friends in high places who quite like the occasional anonymous brown paper parcel.

Even Prayuth backed off, though that may have been after negotiating the size of said brown paper parcel.

Oh, of course! Obviously, when the junta talk about problems affecting the well-being of the public they mean motor show pretties, red bowl distribution, and shirtless tourists...
