While up there you HAVE to eat at the Khaomoa- Khaofang Restaurant, one of the nicest places i have eaten in the country.

Hotels in Tak are probably the best value in Thailand , nearly all of them well under 1000 baht.

Always stay here myself when on the way to Mae Sot.

The Ko Loy golden Park.

Costs about 450 a night but has wifi , air , hot water , good TV and includes free American breakfast of hame eggs cofffee toast.

Reasonable walk to the bus station ......about 10 minutes.

Check it out on google.

Nice but in Mae Sot not Tak. Hotels in Mae Sot tend to be more expensive than Tak on account of all the NGOs staying there are passing through.

Was this the Rajaburi Boutique Hotel? Had dreadful reviews, and no arrivals before 4.30pm if you wanted to use the AC.

Here are two you can choose from, one in the city and the other out on the highway but an easy and short ride to the "downtown" area and presumably near the bus station.

1. The Viang Tak Riverside Hotel, www.viangtakriverside.com,, tel: 055 512507/ 08. Standard room was B600 w/breakfast but could be higher now.

2. Tak Suansin Tel 055 893444/5 They are located out on the highway but a great deal, AC/ref/ etc for B500 but a rather disappointing breakfast. You can call both for more details.
