  • 3,300 baht seems about right for a proper detailing (not a mom & pop shop). However, I am quite sure this is a car detailing job and not a cleaning job. Guessing it is at a mall so it's probably

  • 120 baht inside and out where we are in bkk, extra 100 for engine, surely you did not pay that amount?

  • lostinisaan

I get an oil change, a car wash, food for three of us, some beers and would still have money left. Are you really serious to pay that amount of money? You might have to learn how to say NO.

Some might think it's expensive, but seeing that we are booked full for the next 2 months, Thai people seem to find it not so expensive.

Rentals in Beijing, Guangzhou Shanghai is more expensive than Bangkok, and even more expensive than in other cities of Thailand.
pay workers more or the same amount
Price its even some place triple cheap than in Thailand..
HK rent MUCH more expensive than in Banbgkok.
Labor cost much more expensive..
YES i THINK it F... Expensive in Thailand!!!!
but not only
Car cleaning

Many thinks its f... expensive in Thailand!!!

so you are saying that my price is expensive for a full interior detail?

There are many companies in Bangkok charging the same amount as I am, but there are many companies who are seriously overcharging.

However, it's not really demand & supply anymore. They charge as much as the customer is willing to pay.

If someone wants to pay 50,000 baht for a ceramic coating job then go ahead they say.

Other companies (including mine) do it for 10,000 baht.

I am not Think YOUR price expensive..

I SAY Thailand price expensive.

ANd its not becouse some want pay. its becouse there is no competition.

and lack of education is also affected. In China for this is reason hyper profits on wine. because people buy wine because that does not like the taste. but because the price is - high.

PS

i guess you be in HK..

do you think full car cleaning in HK why near same price even Chiang Mai?

You think Hk people not have money more money than in thailand and cant pay more?wink.png

So again..

YES i think compare with another country and cost rent/ labor .. and salary ... good car cleaning in Thailand F... hight price..

and not only this is F//higth..

TIT not China.

I dono what is "Tit"

But if you mean Thailand=Tit

Yes it not China.

And HK can say it not really China..

And Thailand it not UK.. in London I pay for full cleaning car 80-110 GBP..

So I say - it YES F... expensive any way compare.

G2C looks good, perhaps I'll drop by sometime and have a look. Any idea why seat cleaning and carpet cleaning run in couple thousand for each service? Not that I would use the cart cleaning service, but for the price they are asking you can buy a new set! But I do need the seat cleaning and its quite expensive too, wondering if I should do it myself or does the pro job makes a difference in how much cleaner and protection they offer?

It all depends if you have the proper chemicals to do the job or not.

You can buy decent leather cleaning chemicals at specialized shops. Those chemicals clean the leather without actually damaging the material.

Same goes for carwash soap. You can buy cheap soap at big c, but that kind of soap doesn't have a neutral PH7 value. So it basically will damage your paint.

I operate my own car detailing business now up North and our prices are as follows.

- Leather clean: 1,200 baht (7 seats 1,600 baht)

- Carpet clean: 800 baht (7 seats 1,000 baht)

Reason for that price as below:

- Total working hours are around 3 to 4 hours depending on the size of the car

- Chemical cost

- Cost of machine to steam the seats and carpets

and finally profit to stay in business.

After the cleaning of the seats the customer can chose to coat their leather seats which should prevent dirt from sticking to the leather.

That service costs an additional 2,000 baht (pure chemical cost). Warranty of 1 year.

Some might think it's expensive, but seeing that we are booked full for the next 2 months, Thai people seem to find it not so expensive.

What you are charging is very reasonable and not expensive. Most places in bangkok are asking on average 5000 baht for Seat Cleaning, thats only 5 seats! Carpet Cleaning runs from 3000-6000 baht! These prices are a little absurd! Please open shop in Bangkok too! I'm having a hard time finding seat cleaning for reasonable price!

One would assume overheads are much higher in Bangkok.

Today we cleaned an extremely dirty Kia Carnival (2006, never interior cleaned) for 1,500 baht.

- Vacuum

- Leather and Interior Clean

- Leather Conditioning

- Ozone

One more happy customer :)

Also flushed his A/C for 500 baht extra. Car smells like new. Or I guess it smelled like that :)

One would assume overheads are much higher in Bangkok.

You think its in Bangkok Higher then in London, HK etc?

In London full cleaning cost me few year ago 80-120 GBP its near 4000-6000B

in HK it from 600$HK near 2750 B..

in HK i think it more when 300$HK per day need pay for one worker - 1350 B.

in London how much?

Rent?rolleyes.gif

Of course not. There are many factors as to why things cost the way they do. I would assume there's a lot more competition in London for one...

there is competition in Bangkok, but most tend to agree with each other to set similar prices.

Only a few players in Bangkok are truly charging a fair price other one's are charging a bit too much.

Its not competition if do not want NEW customers. Just do not tell me not have NEW customers if If the price falls.

i do not know about cost labor in Thailand on car clean business. But think it not cost 1350 and up Bath per day.

And I know rent cost its minimum double cheaper than in Hong Kong, London.

It is the major cost in this is industr- maybe I'm wrong and in Thailand there are other big expenses in this" business".sad.png

If enough customers for successful all player in business and do not want new customers - hence there is no competition.

agreement about price its NOT free market so it mean NOT competition.

what I'm talking about a car wash in Thailand.
Please read carefully.
HK, UK, China I have used as an example to support my point - IN THAILAND WASH CAR EXPENSIVE!!!
Its not mean as some few first ansver with out any proof: "Your wife's cleaning you out..." etc.
In Thailand 3300 its even can say "cheap price" if full clean. "cheap" for Thai market..
But its expensive for thai salary..
Eleven days work( minimum salary 300b per day and many people get it) for clean car?blink.png how many time can wash car guys who work in this is service on their salaries?
Just no need say GOOD wash car it luxury thinkscheesy.gif ...

last quote paraphrased from a quote Warren Buffet "Price is what you pay; value is what you get"

Synonyms for cost ...value

its play with words..

PS

I not surprized you CANT understand.

I see you can not even understand how it works is forum quoting.

Excuse me. do not be offended. I could not resist.

Just usually the most ardent critics of the bean in their own eye can not see.rolleyes.gif

I paid 1500baht for a wash & wax at a joint next to Robinson Mall. Impeccable job. A full interior detail was way more expensive. I'll have seats redone before I pay a crazy cleaning bill. When I feel like it I hand wax the truck with a full can of paste wax. Then I know the job was done right.

Guessing it is at a mall so it's probably polichem or moly care.

If you pay 120 baht for a cleaning, then you also don't mind the complementary scratches, swirls and pig tails.

if you do mind about those then you go to a professional shop where the car is inspected for swirls and pig tails before the job is started.

You are right, but how to choose a good detailing shop ?

Do you have a special coating on your car or do you regularly wax your car? If yes, I recommend a pH neutral shampoo (chemical guys, Gyeon, etc are all pH neutral). If you don't really care, then Makro, BigC, etc are good enough.

Meguiar's, Wolfgang, Chemical Guys are all fairly easy to buy in Thailand. Some have booths at all the big motor shows, otherwise search Facebook to find retailers - all will ship to your door for free or very low shipping fees.
