Body of missing man found off Nai Thon

PHUKET: -- The body of a man who was swept out to sea at Nai Thon Beach last night was found washed up on a private beach this afternoon about two kilometers south of the spot where he disappeared.

“Staff from the Andaman White Beach Resort spotted the body of Wichit Sophon, 30, who was reported missing at about 8pm last night by his girlfriend, Sompong Noinak (story here),” confirmed Saku Police Lt Kriangkrai Prawat.

“Ms Sompong identified the body as being that of Mr Wichit. We suspect he hit his head on rocks,” said Lt Kriangkrai.

PHUKET: The body of a man who was reported missing after being washed away by waves from rocks at Nai Thon Beach yesterday (May 22) was found washed up on the beach this afternoon (May 23).

The man, named as 30-year-old Vichit Sophon from Buriram province, was reported missing yesterday by girlfriend Sompong Noynat,30, and a mute man, 24-year-old Arthit Sansuk.

When police arrived to Nai Thon Beach, they found Ms Sompong crying and surrounded by a group of about 10 onlookers, along with Mr Arthit, who had various scrapes on his body and face.
