FDA explains services of its One Stop Service Center

BANGKOK, 24 May 2016, (NNT) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently explained the roles of its One Stop Service Center, highlighting its expedience.

FDA Deputy Secretary-General Praphon Angtrakul said the center's key purpose is to swiftly facilitate those seeking the agency's certification for food and drug products, as well as the department's advice on various medicines. The center would also simplify the FDA's various payment processes.

Mr. Praphon said the center has been well-received by the public, citing the increasing number of visitors. He said the FDA is working with other agencies to develop an online system for various transactions. An online system would eliminate the need for applicants to physically queue at the office. Mr. Praphon also assured the public of the quality of products certified by the FDA.

The FDA's One Stop Service Center is located on the first floor of Building 5 of the FDA's headquarters at the Ministry of Public Health on Tiwanon Road in Nonthaburi province. It opens on weekdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Mr. Praphon also urged residents to call its 24-hour hotline 1556 to file complaints related to food and drugs.
