Why paste over english nutritional values on foreign food stuffs

For some reason the Thai nutritional label is always pasted over the foreign nutritional label of food stuffs

While there is some information that is valuable , info like mg of salt are not shown. Rather they show a % of weight which

I will guarantee no one Thai or Foreigner will understand.

Why not have the food importers stick the sticker somewhere that does not obliterate the one from the country of manufacturer.

Is this a way of telling the west that Thais have a better grasp on nutritional values ?

I am guessing it is a place to put the sticker that doesn't interfere with the general appearance of the packaging. It annoys me too but I guess I can see why they wouldn't want to put the sticker in other places.

I had a new one yesterday, bought a bottle of wine (US so that I don't have to have the "fruit" juice added and Villa says that they have to cover over the "made with grapes" info

Anything Thai Produced you can bet your bottom dollar.

That it is heavily salted and sugared and all the rest....

You really have to be carful what you eat here....

I always say No Salt No Soy Sauce No Sugar No Syrup....

They always look blankly at me...

But it's for my own good and health....
