PHUKET: -- Chalong Municipality could have been a pier shuttle bus less today (May 26) when heavy winds blew one to the edge of a section of the pier with no railings leaving it dangling on the edge at its tipping point. Luckily there was nobody was on board at the time of the incident.

Chalong Municipality received a call at 10am from the Provincial Tourist Assistance Centre stating that a witness reported that winds had swept one shuttle bus which was parked in front of the Yacht Control Centre to the side of the pier leaving it hanging over the edge.

“We were told that the bus slid off the side of the pier and that its rear-end hanging over the water. People were afraid it would tip into the sea,” said Mr Supawatkan Kunnaluck of Chalong Municipality.

Sure.

The wind did it.

At least it wasn't brake failure. Perhaps brake application failure?

Anyways, good no-ones hurt and the bus could be saved.

Thais don't like the handbrake. They love double parking and leaving everything in neutral but no way could the wind get that amount of tonnage moving from a standstill.

"no way could the wind get that amount of tonnage moving from a standstill."

Still that is what happened.

They hardly ever use that bus anymore though, I'm wondering why they were using it yesterday. Especially since there were hardly any people there, no need at all.

To have brake failure you have to have brakes, see my point?
