Visa for Laos

Featured Replies

I know you can get a visa at the border but I thought maybe I would apply for one here at the Lao Embassy in Bangkok then not have the hassel when we land at the airport in Luang Prabang. But, where is the Lao embassy and how much will a visa cost?

Why dont you use google ?

Google is good, but often fine detail is missed out and sometimes outdated with the current situation, to be honest google saved me when I did my own visa run to poi pet before but this forum has some useful posts on such, plus it is a visa related forum tbh. Cheers

If someone wants to post the cottect address for the Laos Embassy in Bangkok, they will have to type "Laos Embassy Bangkok" into Google .

The Laos Embasy website will be a lot more reliable than asking random people on TV

I recommend you just get the visa on arrival at the airport in LP. It really is no hassle at all, just make sure you have a photo, the fee appropriate for your nationality in USD, and your paperwork (which they'll give you on the plane) all filled out before you get into line.

That's what I will probably do if it's to much of a hassle to get to the Lao embassy. The reason I was thinking of getting it (the visa) in advance is two years ago when my wife and I went to Luang Prabang we unfortunately were last in getting off the plane and when we got to Immigration their were about 30 people ahead of me where as my Thai wife got thru in minutes while I had to wait about 1 hour. If you already have the visa then little or no waiting. Of course the trick will be to try and get to the head of the line.
