Luggage Wrapping

Flying out of Phuket tonight. Anyone know if they still have the luggage wrapping at the airport?

Wouldn't wrapping the luggage be like using the locks? If security decides to take a look prior to loading, or in route they will cut or break the lock or wrap?

How does that work? Just curious.

A friend was telling me about a woman he saw in an airport. She pulled out a roll of cling film and then proceeded to wrap her suitcase all over herself.
