Looking on here for sympathy for a mini van driver might be asking too much.

Many of us have been nearly killed by them on the roads.

Probably cut the guys on scooters up driving like a maniac as usual? Those minivans are deathtraps but at least you don't get knocked unconscious then kicked in the face if you're Thai!

Since the supposed 'clean up crack down' the taxi drivers on the once sedate little stretch that is Rawai Beach have proliferated and are extremely aggressive. You will now never see a motosai driver ride along that stretch. Even the public songtaews turn themselves into 'taxis' after 2pm and refuse to stop unless for a 'taxi fare'. They are allowed to get away with this presumably because they're 'off the beaten track'. They should all be hauled off to jail. They're a disgrace. I don't go there any more. What was left of the charm of this last unspoiled under commercialised part of southern Phuket is a disgusting overpriced overbuilt shithole. Well done!

The attitude of these mini bus kamikaze drivers, He probably caused the trouble. It would be nice if the government did something about their aggressive driving and no respect for safety of fare paying passengers.

Well, Rawai couldn't hold out forever.

The transport mafia on Phuket is like cancer - it spreads.

That's really rather besides the point I made isn't it? Anything more constructive to add?

You didn't really make a point, you just had a rant.
