Here's an idea! We take the monks responsible for this, cut off their "vitals," put them into bottles, and sell it as "Holly Water"!! On second though, not a good idea. You would only get a few "tiny" bottles to sell. After all, anyone who would do something like this to tigers are odiously trying to makeup for having such small dicks!! We are just going to have to cut up their whole bodies (slowly) to make enough bottles to sell. The money would of course go to the World Wildlife Fund or such organization.

NOTE: Comments like this are normally beneath the standard for this site. But, in this case...I"M PISSED and not punishment should be too great for people who do this!

Why do people keep calling these guys monks? They are criminals, running an illegal business. They just happens to wear orange robes, since that protects them from the outside world.

Because they are monks and that needs to sink in. There are criminal elements wearing the frocks of every flavor of religion...regardless of the colors. Hiding behind and using BS superstition to conduct nefarious activities is nothing new and has been granted a free pass and "look the other way" attitude forever. Time for these special privileges and protections to stop.

Dismissing the fact that they are monks (or priests or mullahs or whatever)

just further protects the the institutions and then The Sheeple tend to forget and forgive. They, the masses of followers, need this drilled into their heads every time something happens, lest they just forget again.

temple to apply for zoo permit

http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1461569706

the Department of National Parks approved the zoo permit Thursday, and he estimated that the 25 million-baht zoo would be completed within two years.

Saiyood added that the zoo will be registered under a separate private enterprise, called Tiger Temple Co., to stave off any potential backlash from religious authorities.

Haven't read any comment at all by the Thai Sangha Council about the Tiger Temple and its abbot....they must be busy with spiritual things.

Funny that Thai authorities can only concentrate on one thing at a time-------- OK the Tiger products are horrific and good on ya guys for opening it all up to the world----- and don't worry about the tourists you will be told soon how the arrivals have doubled compared to last year------- but what about the monk.Don't tell me---they have not got enough resources to do 2 jobs at once. Well I for one would be willing to bet that he went out the back door a long time ago,and I'm guessing a lot of his Hiso supporters were probably on the same plane. The usual story about how difficult it is to extricate them back is already being preparedclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif .I love my morning laughs in Thailand. They set me up for the day.

The Abbot went to Bangkok last Sunday location unknown

Yes AIRPORT---------location still unknown clap2.gifcheesy.gif

On the flip side, shame on those who in this day and age create a market for tiger products.

Come on, it's mainly the Chinese, and they don't even help injured dying people in accidents in the middle of the road. Do you really think they care about tigers!? I has to be stopped by people who care at the source.

He has enough to live the next 3 lifetimes

Can't believe this. Thai monks wouldn't do such a thing.

I can only assume that is sarcasm? or you have not been out here long.

I find it interesting that it is mentioned as formerly being a Wat. I thought it was against the law for the monks to sell any land?
