Are vaping units legal in CM and Thailand?

Featured Replies

I've heard some conflicting opinions on this issue. I believe that the only illegal thing here is to sell vaping equipment. Or maybe to import it. Does anyone know the real deal? Do you see people vaping in social situations in Chiang Mai these days?

I know one guy who vapes. He's never gone to jail (for that).

I belive they're ok for personal usage. There were reports of raid in stores which were selling them in Bangkok a year or two ago.

It seems to be the liquid that customs are looking for.

Yes, there are vaoers some around. If it is a crime it is very low priority and not worth worrying about, for personal use that is.

Briefly, just before I leave.

I read something a few weeks ago about bringing them in to Thailand now being illegal but nothing about using them once they're in. As with most things from the government even before translated into English it was very ambiguous, but the wording was such that I will make sure I don't have my big battery pack in hand luggage, just the small cheapies.

It didn't differentiate between a box full from China and a stray one in your pocket.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.
