The lid on the Vigo did make a difference at cruise.....thumbsup.gif

Anyhooo, a read...I liked the vid...smile.png

Absolutely. And I have naturally considered the price difference between the two. In fact, I was surprised to learn they are using the exact same front seats in the Revo as in the Fortuner! So that's great for the driver, however, the second-row seats are not nearly as comfortable as obviously they don't recline.

Think the OP needs to be more specific about the size of SUV needed. We could start as small as an HRV in the sub-compact class, going up to the PPV Tuna/EV/Pajero and all sorts of other options in-between.

Yes sorry, Midsize - under 2 million. Tuna/EV/Pajero/MUX etc..

Here's another review.

Just watch the price bias in Australian comparisons - in Thailand these are all similarly spec'd and priced, not so in the land Downunder.

Yep, I guess that works out in favor of buying the Ford here in Thailand..;)

I have only sat in the second row of the old Fortuner with leather seats..It was crap, not comfortable and as a wee guy my head was near the roof....BUT, as a driver do we care about passengers...?....whistling.gif

120 in Thailand? Tut, tut!
What's the problem?
this is the maximum permitted speed in Thailand.
Of course it is technically possible much more.

You probably have short legs and a long body
In the old Fortuner much more space than the new.
if were in the old your head near the roof in the new you must drill one hole in the roof for your head.

Toyota must have done something to the Revo that people apparently don't like. Isuzu is eating their lunch as far as sales. I didn't see sales figures for the Fortuner so I have no idea if the Fortuner popularity has dropped. Isuzu outsold Toyota the first quarter and increased their lead further the second quarter. Thai people I have talked to have said that Toyota pickups are no longer bullet proof. I was very interested in the Revo with the new engine. The only real thing I first noticed is the entertainment system screen looks like they glued a tablet to the dash. The Toyota dealer wouldn't give me a test drive and the salesman was actually rude. I bought the Isuzu V-Cross. I'm seriously impressed with the 3.0 liter 4X4 fuel economy.

One thing is the lower standard of the Isuzu trucks.

For example, all the new Toyotas have ABS whereas in the Isuzu line it's only an option.

This is a major safety factor, especially with the overloaded two door models they use for hauling that you always see doing 80km in the passing lane or overturned on the side of the road.

This is a deadly combination, especially in the rain.

Also fewer features such as cruise control and Diff lock in the Izusu line up.

I also hate the way they use silicon glue and rivets to hold the wheel wells in place. That's just plain stupid!

However the fuel economy is great and they are cheaper.

Might also have to do with Isuzu looking closer to a man's pickup than toyota

Though they both are little girl's pickup compared to North American pickups or the Ranger

Isuzu is enjoying huge success with their 1.9L DDi engine, which currently gives them bragging rights as the most fuel efficient pickup in Thailand. Even if it is only a tiny margin over rivals in reality, it sells.

Toyota have a TRD Revo that they have restyled to make it look more like the Ranger WT. It's still a Revo though.

Sent from my R2D2 using my C3P0 manservant

But the Ranger does look a bit like a Vigo...whistling.gif

Ranger look much more better.

Ranger look front like NEW Land Cruiser

Revo look as all new Toyota for poor
mix mitsubishi galant last centure with ford focus.

I've been using this all week, solo,no diff from Tuna ,only the price diff that would buy a nice Honda City.attachicon.gifImageUploadedByThaivisa Connect1466765191.742578.jpg

I do not know right now REVO and NEW Fortuner. but old is a difference. spring suspension give ou know sowing
jumping lik goat Helix much more than Fortuner.
demolition point in drift tighter much earlier.
Of course if the trunk is empty.
But noise in the cabin is less than the Fortuner.
But you just near true.
Fortuner its cheap truck bus.. sell overpriced and Toyota only advertises it as a Harrier mix with Prado ..
and all the fans of this car just like a zombie which the sect did not differentiate amongst the obvious facts.

All Isuzu pickups have ABS, even the very cheapest model. As far as differential lock, that is old school. Traction control is the modern way. It uses the ABS system to sense if a wheel is spinning and the brakes are applied to the spinning wheel. I don't know about cruise control because it would be mostly useless on Thai highways. They must have run out of glue and rivets on my Isuzu wheel wells, mine has phillip head screws. Where do you find your information? Opinion is one thing but just plain erroneous information is something else.

Nope, my friend just bought a 4x4 two door (Spark) for farming and it does NOT have ABS available nor is it available in the two-wheel drive two door versions. Where do you get your information? http://isuzubluepower.com/spark.php#safety

The wheel wells are riveted and glued with black silicone. Maybe have a closer look...coffee1.gif

Yes, they also told me that CC was "not necessary in Thailand" and that "Thai people no like" as they don't offer it at the time. But oddly the latest top of the line MUX now includes CC and this is now a MAJOR selling point.

Off-road, the D-Max and MUX are nothing special, have average wheel travel and traction control when compared to the others, wading depth is only 600mm (the lowest of the lot) and no rear locker! Lack of interior noise suppression might also be an issue for some.

However, positive points are the fuel efficiency, reliability, rear seating space and after sales service. Unlike some of the newer models, the engine and gearbox have years of service behind them.

Just my two baht..wink.png

You may be right about the Spark. I only looked at the D-Max specs;

All D-Max models come with ABS brakes, electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control as standard. (From Isuzu site)

I went out and took a look at my V-Cross and can assure you that the fender wells are attached with Phillip head screws.

Oh OK, I'll have another look at the v-cross next time I'm down at the dealer. Thanks for the heads up!

To tell the truth, I'd be happy without all that electronic stuff. If it hadn't all come with the Prestige package, I wouldn't have ordered it. Keyless ignition, in dash GPS and all the safety stuff that works off the ABS were not on my list. I'm not really crazy about ABS for myself. I did think having ABS was a good idea for my wife. Inexperienced drivers panic if the vehicle starts to go sideways with the brakes locked up especially on wet roads. I spent many years driving on ice and snow before ABS was even available.
