David Beckham voting for Britain to remain in European Union

LONDON (AP) — Former England captain David Beckham is voting for Britain to remain in the European Union in Thursday's referendum.

The 41-year-old Beckham started his soccer career at Manchester United and he wrote on Facebook "we were a better and more successful team" because of the players from outside Britain in the squad.

Beckham also played for Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

He says "those great European cities and their passionate fans welcomed me and my family and gave us the opportunity to enjoy their unique and inspiring cultures and people. We live in a vibrant and connected world where together as a people we are strong."

Beckham concluded "we should be facing the problems of the world together and not alone. For these reasons I am voting to Remain."

He never was the brightest lamp in the street. Now he is establishment through and through. Someone trying to be the voice of the common person. Please David don't dare.

Well quite so stupid he can not have been.

Has made with his "not so bright lamp", a remarkable career.

Respect.

He will certainly not starving, should it come to brexit.

With his well-stocked bank accounts the outcoming may not matter for him anyway.

Good on David Beckham for stating he'll vote to Remain.

Only the far right (supported in Europe by Putin) want the continent to return to its year 1900 again, or to reconnect with the past 2000 years of war and barbarism throughout the continent that finally ended in a rubble in 1945. And which cost dearly many Americans and their families to include in our ancestral lands.

Remain! Repel the compulsions of the reactionary rightists. Continue going forward.

Idiotic piece of news, but the whole referendum is idiotic. Nobody can fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of leaving, not even the politicians or economists. The ordinary people can only vote according to their prejudices.

Fear not for while the plight of the UK is hopeless it is not serious. smile.png

All the same you can be assured your point of view will continue to exist for a long time to come.

Nice sentiment, but it has nothing to do with being part of Euro. Shows he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and doesn't quite ''get it'' or did he forget about all the S.American, African and Asian players that also play in the league.

Once again more experts opinion to stay argument,,

to leave argument,,, censored,,, not allowed,,

the mayor of london on the recent Brexit debate was

shown to say angrily ''we will fight'' etc, i'm thinking

why fight, who is fighting, why use those words.

History will show the people were right and the

Beckham's were only shooting hot wind.

He's a d....khead.

Certainly he is entitled to an opinion, no question about that.

But WHAT he thinks (if he thinks) is his own personal matter and business; as a public person he should have been mature enough to refer to respective questions accordingly.

That's right, that was the war where primarily Germany and Italy were reduced to rubble, yes?

The same Germany that is now suicidally importing guaranteed national mayhem from the mid-east?

All the more reason not to resemble lemmings and proceed forward, over the cliff.

The fact that Obama supported 'remain' is reason enough to head for the exit as fast as possible. What's in this for you other than your standard support of left-wing tyranny and fanaticism?

Can you explain the lies, like yours, that were told to Norway before its 94 referendum?:
