Car production output rises this year

BANGKOK, 22 June 2016 (NNT)-The Federation of the Thai Industries (FTI) has revealed that car production in May increased 25% compared to the same month last year.

Vice Chairman the FTI's Automotive Industry Club Surapong Paisitpattanapong said government’s economic stimulus and investments contributed to the higher production report.

The number of cars manufactured had increased from April to May by 22% to almost 168,400 units due to higher domestic demand. Of this figure, around 70,200 cars were manufactured for domestic sales and the remaining 98,200 units were exported.

Car exports in May also grew from the same period last year by 22%, which brought the total value of car exports to almost 55 billion baht. Compared to other types of cars, pickup-based passenger vehicles recorded the highest increase at 110%.

The total export value of automotives and auto-parts from January to May was 393.6 billion baht, a 10% increase from the year before.

Not much wonder the number of new cars are up when you see some of the promotions... Like 5% down or even as little as 20,000 down, and a whopping 84 months to pay back... Car manufacturers are just encouraging more and more people to get into debt. Of course they don't give a shit, as once the car is sold, it's the finance companies problem...bah.gif
