Bangkok Hotels?

Featured Replies

Hi,

looking for hotel recommendations for hotels in or around the Sukhumvit for me and my wife and our son (12) and daughter (16). Something that's good value for money but not too pricey - mid range, I suppose - nice rooms, pool, etc.

Many thanks in advance...

Ray

Woraburi Soi 4 is a good deal. Just go ahead and pay a little more for an upper floor room, the 900thb room I got on the ground floor, the plumbing did not drain too well.

Although down the soi about 400 meters they have a free house tuk-tuk that runs you to Sukumvit where you are an easy walk to the skytrain.

Riverside is A good area,BTS and river taxi, breakfast included, buffet. Bossotel inn I believe 1700 baht or near it.

You really need to give a better indication of your budget so we can suggest something appropriate.

With wife and kids in tow I'd be looking at places in the 3500+ Baht range which gives you some very decent hotels.

Below that they get a bit tatty...and under 2k Baht a night I would only stay there on my own.

Marriott Thong Lor. It is sort of like a serviced apartment and has a separate bath and bedroom. I think it was around 6,000 Baht but remember you are asking for a room for four people now. Your kids will be considered adults for all intents and purposes. Plan on 1,500 per person for anything decent with a pool whatever you decide to do.

They have standard rooms but you want the apartment rooms which are in a separate wing. For an entire family I do not think this is so expensive. If you can forego the pool I recommend this as a nice place and good value for money.

Reasonably priced and big rooms for a pretty good value. Otherwise you will need two rooms at most places. Nothing good with a pool will come to less than 3,000 Baht per room. i think with the size of the rooms at Celadon you can stay in one room and maybe use a hotel pool.Try the penthouse suite, it is reasonably priced. Expect to pay at least 300 per person to use a good hotel pool or more.

Grand Sukhumvit Hotel has some very nice two bedroom apartments for under 6000 Baht a night.

Still cheap for four people for a quality hotel in my opinion.
