Taxi Driver the Only WitnessStory by Albert JackPATTAYA: -- At 4am on the morning of June 24 a Pattaya Police checkpoint at Kao Pattaya, Nongprue, were informed of a robbery that happened right in front of them.Whilst walking past the police patrol a fifty-six year old German man, known only as Jochen, had his bag snatched by a passing motorcycle thief. A forty-year-old motorcycle taxi driver did witness the theft and gave chase but the thief managed to get away. Joking aside, I have been reading for a long time about all the crime and even police corruption in Pattaya and Jomtien, even fleecing prisoners and holding passport and fleecing the expat's. But, the only thing I hear about is "Loosing Face" in the Tourist Industry. Somebody over there needs to start "Walking Tall" and clean that rat nest out.
