US takes Thailand off Tier 3 in TIP Report following significant progress

BANGKOK, 30 June 2016 (NNT) – The United States has released its annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report, with Thailand being moved from Tier 3 to Tier 2 Watch List, while the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has attributed the better ranking to Thailand’s commitment to ending human trafficking.

Koh Samui municipality to use canvas to cover garbage

SAMUI: -- Faced with a mountain of accumulated garbage estimated at about 250,000 tonnes and a malfunctioned incinerator, Koh Samui municipality has come up with an idea to temporarily solve the problem – to buy rubber-coated canvas to cover the huge garbage.

Thailand and Myanmar agree to continue cooperation

BANGKOK, 1 July 2016 (NNT) - Myanmar is willing to consider repatriation of its war refugees in Thailand, according to Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon. Myanmar also expresses readiness to cooperate with Thailand to construct a new bridge to connect the two countries in Chiang Rai province.

EC: 110,699 eligible voters already registered to vote outside constituency

Tesla driver killed in crash while using car's 'Autopilot'
