PHUKET: -- Major blackouts are affecting key residential and commercial areas in and around Phuket Town from this week so that the Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority (PPEA) can work on high-voltage power lines in the areas.

Power supply along Thepkrasattri Rd northbound north of Phuket Town has been shut down today (July 5) from 9am to 4pm so that maintenance workers can work on high-voltage power cables there.

The affected areas along Thepkrasattri Rd northbound start at the Seventh-Day Adventist School near Wat Kosit Viharn and end at the power substation on the corner of Soi Parchasamakke, and include Soi Kanjana U-thit, Soi Rassada Ramluek, Soi Manu U-thit, Soi Lak koksri, Moo Baan Prompan Village and Moo Baan Hongbuth.
