BANGKOK:-- Bangkok's leading policeman has said that the exact relationship between "Lady Kai" and Prachacheun police station officers will be revealed this week.

The sensational case of the now jailed Monta Yokratanakan, 56, has captivated the Thai public. Some five officers of the Prachacheun station are under investigation.

Claimants against the self styled Lady Kai say that at least nine false charges of theft were laid against them at the station. Some of these resulted in wrongful imprisonment for people who were employees of the woman who is currently on remand.

Acting police chief Sanit Mahathavorn admitted that there were "irregularities" in goings on at the station and that the investigation by another division of the force would report its findings this week.

He promised justice in a transparent manner saying that there was no cover up and that if there is wrong doing on the part of police they would not enjoy any protection.

Like a child with a secret they just can't help themselves.

I know this case is of public interest and for some has a soap opera feel to it, but real people have been badly hurt by all of this. How about the police treat it sensitively like the serious crime it is and not a spectacle.

Any news from her missing driver?
Or from the other thai lady who is an owner of a condo went missing after she transferred ownership of the condo and land to an aide of Gai?

There must be certainly quite unscrupulous characters in the background.

Another question that needs to be answered is in regards to the judges that found these persons guilty, when in fact there was no credible evidence to show these people commited any crime.

All will be revealed? Sure....gigglem.gif

It is a damn shame that a person like that is given the chance to bully (and worse) so many commoners just because they are commoners. It is not just her, it is also the ones who made it happen.

And in the same breath he revealed that on the night of 24 December Santa Claus flies through the skies on his sleigh.

Irregularities at the police station. So what that is the norm in police stations.

Not only police what about the corrupt judges jailing people without any evidence.

Ohh yes that is the norm here. I know because it happened to me.

The pantomine goes on, it's illegal to criticize any Judge or to discuss the rights or wrongness of any judgement they make, remember this is Thailand! facepalm.gifthumbsup.gifwhistling.gifwai.gif

Another question that needs to be answered is in regards to the judges that found these persons guilty, when in fact there was no credible evidence to show these people commited any crime.

most people here know the answer to that, the court can only judge on the evidence presented and even then don't seem to have the will and certainly not the expertise to question such evidence

It is time Thailand had a jury system then the defence and prosecution can present their experts to argue the validity and authenticity of presented evidence, a jury system is complex and also has strict rules - rules and standards are something Thailand isn't good at, such a system would mean it is much harder to manipulate.....certain people don't want that ....... 3rd world at best

If Thailand really wants to advance as a nation in the eyes of the world then they need to make massive changes and those that are found to be abusing need to be severely punnished, fabricating evidence would get someone a lengthy jail term in the west

Gai n the policemen are just small fishes that can be cut off easily. Thats why this case is being prosecuted and made a show off. The real big boys behind will never be caught.

Police irregularities! Criminal woman and real victims of her crimes, and it all shall be reviled? We return after these messages. TV saga, or real criminal case?

Judges are bought off as often and as easily as police and prosecutors here. And they aspire to 2nd world status, let alone 1st.

Kharma.... just be careful what you pray for [recall that she visited the Temple to heap strong justice on her victims a day or so prior to arrest]!!!

I'm sure her "relationship" with the cops was purely platonic....nothing untoward having ever occurred of course.....

Now she's been deemed nuts......LM charges applied and nothing much further about any trafficking that may have happened......but I hope I'm wrong

we hope there will be transparency and follow up on

other rogue operators.

there are dime a dozen at patphong.

do a thorough clean up now that you have

begun.

do give genuine operators more incentives

to provide legit tourism and leisure services

so that all can enoy the clean infrastructure

without fear of being scammed.

Why can't this guy keep his mouth shut.

Don't tell the press of what is to come warning others you are coming for them. Do your investigations, gather the evidence and then you can have a big splash in the press when you arrest them. The old trick of saying "it's coming folks" just doesn't work because in the past it just does not happen, it is fooling nobody that justice prevails in Thailand.
