ROI-ET:-- A distraught Thai man caused a big stir in downtown Roi-Et yesterday afternoon after he scaled a telephone mast and would not come down. He had earlier left his house after his wife and four year old son had left him.

He climbed up the 90 meter mast next to the downtown Roi-Et police station to a distance of about 20 meters and would not come down. A large crowd gathered as police and rescue workers tried to talk him down, reported Daily News. Paitoon Bangbai, 37, of Nong Ta Kla district was sobbing and wailing about his wife and child.

Rescuers said they would help him to contact his family if he would please come down.

After an hour he calmed down somewhat but as rescuers were positioning a cradle and ladder to help him down he fainted. He had to be tied with rope and gently lowered down the central part of the mast before he reached the ground safely.

He was taken to Roi-Et hospital.

Poor man. You sorry sods should shut your traps. To suddenly lose your child is no small thing. He is the father, I hope a good lawyer sits with him and explains his parental rights.

Best wishes to you young man.

I doubt that will happen in Thailand, Greenchair. They don't seem to have any real family services or mental health treatment, etc here. Who knows what this is all from.

Love makes people do strange things sometimes.

If i had lost my children under similar circumstances, maybe i would have done something crazy.

Be strong mate, fight for your rights.

"Love" doesn't make people react like this. Rejection does. Some deal with it better than others. I remember my first rejection in my early 20s. Man, I thought it was the end of the world at the time.

Live and learn. Women are like city busses. Stand on the corner and soon enough, another one comes along.

He was not taking it too seriously, only climbed 20 Mtrs up a 90 Mtrs mast.

maybe the wife had good reason to leave him and take the child.

I doubt the child left him. The mother took the child more likely. Why? Who knows.

I hope they can work out joint custody or some reasonable and mature solution. whistling.gif

Throwing a party would have been better

Off topic, but I love your profile picture.

That's his wife. Don't make her leave him and make him climb a pole too.

he was not able to cope with the

loss.

it may, however, turn out to be a better option

under the circumstances as it will provide them

an opportunity to rethink their relationship and

seek family help to make amends.

let us the positive side.

Mummys little boy. Climb a pole because things didnt go your way. Next time climb under your bed and tell you will not come out until you get your own way. Maybe she left you because your not a man just a spoilt brat. Good luck to her and the kid. Next we will hear is this spoilt mummys boy trying to kill them because he lost face. Maybe he did not come down simply because he was scared. 90 metre pole and climb 20 metres? Then faint? Tantrun throwing brat. Should be made to pay for rescue services time

Sometimes this is where I think TV is flat out horrible.

Bunch of nin-com-poops making light, making jokes of someone's extreme distress.

His wife and child left him, quite possibly out of work, and you guys think you're all Johnny Carson funny guys.

Dumba*sses.

Go make light of Donald Trump, or bonehead Brexit but for average Joe losing his family (?), get a grip you guys, have some compassion.
