BANGKOK: -- Investigators in the sensational "Lady Kai" case have revealed startling new details about the death of an Udon heiress and the disappearance of a driver.

It has emerged that Lady Kai - real name Monta Yokratanakun, 56 - was named on the death certificate of a millionairess in the north east who was very quickly cremated following her death from apparent liver cancer, reported Daily News.

The millionairess, her ex husband and Lady Kai were all involved in a land deal that occurred in the north eastern province. And in connection with this it is said that Lady Kai claimed to be a princess and arrived in Udon with a police escort and body guard.

Investigators are interviewing monks, undertakers, doctors and land owners to see if a murder has been committed.

Lady Kai is currently in jail in Bangkok facing charges of lese majeste and making false and malicious accusations. Many of her former employees claim they suffered at her hands. The case is mired in human trafficking allegations and could involve other influential figures and police.

For some time Lady Kai has been rumored to be involved in the death of two people - her driver Sunthorn Khanhin or Ko who has been missing since 2012 and the heiress Chaweewan Tangwiriya who died in 2003.

Investigators now believe that the driver is alive. In 2012 there is evidence to show that he removed himself from the house registration of his employer Lady Kai at the Chatuchak district office and went to a temple in Pathum Thani. After this he is believed to have gone to the North East of Thailand.

Yesterday he communicated to investigators through monks at the temple of Wat Nang Khanjantri in Pathum Thani that he will turn himself in to investigators on July 22nd for interview.

Crime suppression investigators have also been busy in Udon Thani regarding the death of Chaweewan. They say that in 2003 Lady Kai went to buy land in the province and was accompanied by Piti Tangwiriya, the ex husband of Chaweewan.

Lady Kai claimed to be a "khun ying" (a princess title that only the King can confer on someone). On every visit she was accompanied by an entourage with a body guard and also had a police escort with a high ranking policeman in attendance.

People who saw her believed her to be a princess - evidence that if proven would support the charge that she has committed lese majeste.

The CSD has now discovered that Chaweewan is definitely dead. On November 26th 2003 she went to the Dr Udom Clinic in Sakorn Nakorn for treatment. Within just seven days she was dead.

The death certificate dated December 2nd 2003 states that she died from liver cancer and the name of the person reporting the death was Monta Yokratanakan, Lady Kai herself. A cremation was hurriedly arranged at the temple of Wat Sri Sawang in Sakorn Nakorn the very next day.

After her death the land that Lady Kai had wanted to buy came into the possession of the ex husband and was sold for eight million baht to an another person. A house has now been built on the land and investigators are still to establish what Lady Kai's role was in this.

CSD police have been to Wat Sri Sawang to interview monks who confirmed that Chaweewan was cremated there and about 40-50 people attended the ceremonies.

They are now interviewing undertakers, doctors at the clinic and the current land owner to establish what connection Lady Kai has to the affair.

Rumor has it that the fortuneteller who got caught up in the bicycling extravaganza brouhaha and subsequently (and conveniently) died in prison and was subsequently (and conveniently) cremated without an autopsy . . . was her brother.

I've no idea if this is true or not, but it's what I'm hearing from the Thai-language side of things. Take it with a wagon-load of salt, as with all such mutterings in Thailand.

Police provided few details to the media about the last charge beyond saying that Monta made false claims that she has a royal bloodline, and that she was also bestowed a royal title by His Majesty the King.

“She falsely claimed ties to the High Institution,” said the officer in charge of the investigation, Chakrit Sawasdi, using a euphemism that refers to the monarchy. “Please don’t go into details about this case. It’s a sensitive matter.”

I believe they should offer her full immunity against prosecution in return for shopping all the hierarchy and others who have been part of all her crimes. Lets face it, justice would prevail big time and lets face it, she would last about 2 minutes out in the big world all on her own.

Hope she dies soon

That would be much to humanely to allow her that privilege.

Let her rot in a cell with 100 other convicts for the next 50 years.

Yeah you're right mate.... i hate these people with a passion. I hate the "class" system. In my experience the poorer a country the bigger class plays it's part.

I pray to all the forces above and below that she is made to suffer in this life and thereafter. Shame on those who protect her knowing that their actions bring about torment and suffering.

What has she been found guilty of? Where do you get your information from?

What a farce. Police now wants to investigate the Wat and undertaker. Their is no undertaker in Thailand.

If someone dies the police normally would investigate if foul play is involved or otherwise its the PYB that reports to the police. If the police gives the green light a 3-7 days party is done by the family before they burn the body.

If no party is done and the body is quickly send for burning at the Wat it is already very suspicious because it is not normal.

I know Wat Sawang but they wouldn't burn of a body if it was not cleared from the Amphur.

The Sawang police and the local Amphur in Sawang should be investigated and as well the Dr. Udom Clinic in Sakon Nakhon.

This whole case stinks like a herring

Fantastic Thai Drama movie for Asian Audience. Poor woman she was indeed poisned hence the hurried cremation.

She might have had liver cancer but am certain it wasn't the cause of death.?

For Liver Cancer you don't see a clinic but she would have gone to Aek Udon or a private hospital in Sakon nakhon.

Whatever floats your boat. Personally I figure I don't know this woman, I don't know what she has done, I don't know what her intentions were. I also don't know of anything in the Eightfold Path that would encourage me to wish harm or suffering to another person. Perhaps you follow a nikaya of Buddhism which I have not had the opportunity to study.
