I have a Honda 110 Wave, 7 years old, registered in Pattaya, and the original owner has left Thailand. I have the green book and there is nothing dirty about the deal. How do I get it registered in my name?

Owner has to sign the Book--Copy of his Thai Id Card signed as well..If he has Left Thailand your Most likely Stuck with a Bike that will remain in his name

If the original owner is a farang he will also have to get a residency certificate from Thai Immigration as will you. If you don't expect him back in the country I think that it is probably a lost cause.

If the bike remains in the other guys name, any issues other than resell problems down the line?

I have a similar problem and trying to decide on the bike :)

I'm finding it impossible to register the damn thing without that letter of residency. My sense is it's a lost cause.

What you could try is to get a signed copy of the old owners exit from Thailand stamp in his passport

then the residence certificate requirement should be gone.

If you leave it in his name it will be quite unattractive to a new buyer..as they will face the same problems you do

bikes with green book "problems" often sell much cheaper than normal.
