Day activity for a 5 year old in CM + babysitter

Featured Replies

Hi,

We're coming to CM soon for 3 weeks with a 5 year old boy.

We wonder if there are any kind of by-the-day or by-the-week daycare / activity places where we might put him for such a short term stay?

Also, does anyone have experience in finding babysitters in Chiang Mai, and where should I start looking?

There are no agencies for the hiring of maids, housekeepers and babysitters in Chiang Mai. I would not chance leaving a stranger to babysit a 5 year old unless that person comes highly recommended from a reliable source.

No daycare centres as far as I know.

Kindergarten is daycare in Thailand.

Lots of them, not sure who would take for short term but often your money will not be refused by a business here (which is how schools are run here).

Try a bilingual one, often Western teachers with Thai helped, shouldn't be a trust issue.

At OP: Theres a group on facebook called Chiang Mai Moms. Ask there. Last I heard there was a family offering a service like you require.

@cyberfarang, yes there is at least one agency. Check out Bliss.

Like Junglechef said, a preschool might also be another option. I know Sunshine takes part time kids.
