Normandy church killers pledge allegiance to ISIL in a video



PARIS: -- The ISIL militant group has released a video of two men it says were those who attacked a church in France. Both are pledging allegiance to the group’s leader.

The attackers were shot dead by police after taking hostages and killing a priest. One, already named by polic, was 19-year-old local Adel Kermiche, who had twice tried to reach Syria to join ISlL.

Identification
Kermiche was released from detention pending trial for alleged membership of a terrorist organisation in March. He had to wear an electronic tag, surrender his passport and was only allowed to leave his parents’ home for a few hours a day.

Kermiche’s tag did not send an alarm because the attack took place during the four-hour period when he was allowed out.

Investigators have carried out DNA tests on the second attacker who they think may be a 19 year-old from Savoie in eastern France after an ID card was found at Kermiche’s home.

According to the justice ministry, there are just 13 terrorism suspects and people convicted of terrorist links wearing tags such as that worn by Kermiche. Seven are on pre-trial bail. The other six have been convicted but wear the electronic bracelet instead of serving a full jail term.

Nun’s fear
Sister Danielle witnessed the attack in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray church:

“I was very afraid when they came in; the fear when I said to myself ‘we are going to die.’ When I saw them coming in, I thought ‘this is it, this is the end,’ they were very determined and motivated.”

“They said ‘You, Christians, you are eliminating us.’ They shouted things like that….”

Residents of the small Normandy town near Rouen have been leaving flowers in tribute to the 86-year-old priest,Father Jacques Hamel who had his throat cut in the attack. He was well known locally and the brutal nature of his death has shocked many both in the town and among the wider church community.

Since the Bastille Day killings in Nice, there has been a spate of attacks in Germany as well, creating greater alarm in Western Europe already reeling from attacks last year in France and this year in Brussels.

Impossible...the video is an obvious fake because a French judge, over the objection of prosecutors, said the killer was most definitely a reformed jihadi (despite his TWO failed attempts to get to Syria) and was no longer any danger to society. In addition, the killer testified (on the Quran?) to the judge that he was indeed a gently snowflake now and that a Muslim would never lie as it's harem and he would loose his virgins for doing so. The judge took pity on this wayward and misunderstood youth and released him with an ankle monitoring bracelet so he could only commit terrorist acts between 8:30 and 12 noon.

Europe appears to have a serious lack of quality leadership to tackle the ISIL problem.

Limp wrist judges and lack of sufficient security forces does not bode well for the future of these countries who have opened their borders to people who will consume them.

The mind boggles. With that kind of security to breach, even the most stupid and incompetent terrorist could plan an outrage.
