PM asks “good” politicians to think aloud how they can solve conflicts

BANGKOK: Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha asked good politicians of all parties to think aloud what proposals they have which will help solve the country’s conflicts rather than just talking about democracy.

In his weekly “Returning Happiness to the People” address, the prime minister said he would like Thai people of all sectors and professions to look back at the events before the coup on May 22, 2014, to remember them and to use them as a lesson so that they will not recur.

The period between 2015-2017 are transition period – a period for the laying down of foundation to strengthen the country on the long run, said the prime minister.

From his talks with the people and listening to their problems, he said he felt the people still have confidence in the government – in the way the government has been doing – and they do not trust the politicians. So he urged politicians to try to make the people to trust them and to have confidence in them.

For the past two years, the prime minister pointed out that he had not heard politicians say anything new besides democracy and referendum. “The people are waiting to hear from you (politicians) – what will you do when you come into the office.”

“So please explain – what will you be in your democracy. What is your good governance? What will you do for the people? The welfare state, where the budget will come from? Your economic system, where will the revenues come from? Because I did not have these things when I first came into the office, just the expenses which are problematic.”

The prime minister reiterated his intention to main stability the best he could. “But it depends on you people (politicians ) as well to bring about public peace,” he said.

The people are waiting to hear from you (politicians) what will you do when you come into the office.

"I will stuff my pockets to the best of my ability"

"You'll go a long way in this game!"

Whose to say people in the present regime aren't stuffing their pockets now? What companies are getting all the contracts from the excessive unchecked spending of this regime?

He said the other week that there won't be elections why politicians still had opinions..

This bloke has got the taste of power and is not going anywhere soon judging by all his rhetoric day after day and on Thailand. he can find any excuse to stay where he is and keep his stranglehold

I am really fed up with TVF posters being so cynical!

It's obvious "good" politicians love Him and "bad" ones do not as they are under the control of "unseen forces" who are trying to wreck His good work as Saviour

now please try to understand the difference that He is trying to teach you

You know...there was a time when I actually cared, now it has just become a parody of the real world....now it is just cheap cigarettes!

Wouldn't this be against the law?

Or is he trying to flush out "politicians"?

If those politics were to think ' out loud ' of what they really thinking of, you be putting all of them in jail........

I wonder what he'd say if any of them had the balls to say "We'd arrest coup plotters (past and future), make life sentences in jail mandatory for corruption, oversee military spending and rescind any Constitutions imposed at the barrel of a gun and through unlawfully brokered referendums".

Pal, you've blown it. Where I live is staunch Yellow/Don't care, but people I speak to now tell me they are really irritated now with the old '(sigh) Muggins here is going to have to save the day again. Why is it always down to me?' routine, as though you didn't overthrow the previous government in order to do so. Not only that but you show no sign of preparing to leave at any point, so the job can't be that bad.

It's been going on for over two years now and become extremely stale. You are alienating your own support base. Your programme is boring too and nobody watches it. Cheers!

Someone should ask this Prat his secret for successful conflict resolution (AND reconciliation) - what did he and his usurpers do in 2014, and has that really returned Happiness to the People?

He'd probably say- "oh bugger", can't have that nonsense going on.

Someone should ask him what makes a good general. How can a good general help solve and not impound conflict and contribute to human rights abuse and improve our international image.

I think that's a good observation, the major sort out should had happened within the first couple of weeks, all the useless, corrupt and otherwise undesirables should have been put to the torch immediately instead of pussy-footing around trying to be the good guy, it doesn't work - especially in Thailand with all the mates, interconnecting connections and lunch boxes.

You mean they should have committed suicide??

There are no 'good' Politicians in Thailand, only self opinionated bigots consumed by greed and the constant suppression of the country's people who must be manipulated to ensure constant unrest. In this way they have the best cover for their pillaging of the Nations coffers !

The term Democracy is loosely bandied about in Thailand , and you shouldn't talk about even Thai Democracy , if you did have Democracy you Prayut wouldn't be where you are today , as no Democracy has Military interfering in everyday life of its Government nor its citizens, how you solve the other problems , one thought that is why you pulled the Coup, you weren't going to pull , however one solution would be to get the police department to do their job, arrest and detain and the previous street demonstrations of civil disobedience would not have happened, that's if they had acted immediately, the laws are there, the Police are not, the biggest problem the Military and the RTP are to politicalized and controlled by Parliament and are not independent identities.............................coffee1.gif

For 2 years the PM's mouth has been controlling his brain with no sign yet of the required role reversal probably because his mouth has been mostly occupied by his foot.

We all know what feet can step in so its possible he is suffering from shit for brains.

Yep, Thai style - fall off balconies, hanged with arms tied behind their backs, shot 3 times in the head, the usual suicide methods.

Create a climate of fear; arrest people for FB posts, 8 year old for being attracted to pink paper ..... then complain that there is no flow of good ideas?

A note from the teacher.

He must try harder and also finish the homework that he started.

When I watched him on TV last evening I laughed when he said that. Of course they haven't said anything for fear of being slammed up...or worse. Actually he is insulting people's intelligence suggesting that they haven't recognized this '....in sheep's clothing' stance.
