Nothing to do with Win10

In the new editor SHIFT+ENTER single Lines

and enter you get "double" lines

Nice!

But wish we could post in non-WYSIWYG mode.
This is a "shift-enter" line.

This is a "enter" line.
Looks like I'll be using the shift key a lot more now.  <_<

Unfortunately :( according to TD, the non-WYSIWYG (or BBCode) mode isn't coming back so we are stuck with this.

I just noticed this post. Where did the "BBCode Mode" come from?
I can't get it to appear on my PC.

Damn! I wish Tech Doc would swap the shift-enter and enter ways of producing new lines.

This double spacing is crazy.

Isn't it.

Buggerations! It's the best way to totally control what you are posting.
Is this a "reduce functionality to the lowest common denominator to help the idiots who don't know what they are typing" type of change? Not that I'm upset.

Too much.

DELETED

Testing oversized image (10800x5400)

Edit: Looks good and seems to resize automatically

Not exactly "resized" but scaled down.

So this "little map" is still a 14 MB monster and takes it's time even on fast connection.
A killer for those on mobile or slow lines.

It is all in html now instead of BB code. That is why the BB code button is gone.

I think BB Code was very handy as you could easily remove quotes etc etc, but understandable that it had to go.

How will this new system work with Multiple embedded Quotes ?

Yes. but what happens when you have too many nested quotes and have to delete the middle one?

Well, that didn't work too well :) - I didn't delete anything, but none of your quotes is there.

"is there" not "are there"

Aha! Only the last post is quoted.

Well, that's not too clever as you easily lose track of what the last post was quoting.

^ + 1

Not very handy at all IMO

Edit: You can quote the previous quote, BUT you have to go and find it in the Topic.  That is not very handy if you are on Page 139 of a Topic and you have to find that specific Post.

Yes, I can see even more confusion will reign in some of the more "argumentative" political threads where people already get lost as to who said what and to whom, and the only recourse was to quote what was said before.

Imagine what will happen now.. "But I said, and then YOU said..."  "No, no. You said... and then I said..." default_cheesy.gif

Much better to have a quotes limit, like before. That might force people to delete the innermost quote of a multi-nested post to enable their post to be accepted, rather than chop off the first BBMode code [ quote ] and then screw up the entire post.

Would you like enter be single line space again?

Hi Doc.

Yes please.

I really think the "enter" and "shift enter" should be reversed - a single line for "enter", a paragraph-type double line for "shift-enter" (if you can do it).

Thanks for considering.

^ My guess it's the same (Innovision) however a more up to date version, but I could be wrong

If that's the case, it's hard to believe that a (major) version upgrade causes such a faff. I thought we were dealing with platform migration here.

Use line-break functions again the way they were before.

Enter = paragraph break.

Shift+Enter = single-line break without breaking the paragraph.

I believe this is how it works in text editors, eg Microsoft Word, blogs, LINE, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
