Thailand secures 98.5 billion baht for data centres, cloud projects
Indeed, with the increase in power usage from Data Centers and the drift to EV, I do hope the government has assessed the necessary power production increases and required grid upgrades. I understand these Data Centers are extremely heavy electricity users. There is no where near enough current output of copper to support the expected global grid enhancements required for all this AI digitization and switch to EVs/Hybrids. EVs also use 3x as much copper as regular ICE vehicles. Might be an investment idea in there somewhere -

No, voters don't get to vote for the Senate. Only would-be senators get to vote, for themselves. -

Android TV Box
For many people? Then how come you are the ONLY ONE HERE using that method? You think no one here has a Smartphone? Yet, they all use Android boxes....you know, the actual topic of the thread. But then we know you are 'special' 😊 It's you who got offended and started lashing out. -

The difference between the various View Talays
That is a mystery--maybe someone on the Forum knows. My only guess is they already had VT3A and VT3B, and a 5 and a 3 can sometimes be confused in handwriting. And, memory--"Did he say to meet at 3A or 5A?" So, possibly they chose 5C and 5D as a better way to distinguish the 4 large buildings. They would skip 4 as an unlucky number. -

Need to purchase new tabletop gas burner. Suggestions?
Hi Grumpy... Thanks for your reply. I was just poking around on here as your reply came in. I did see a Rinnai 3 burner advertised but it was very expensive, if I remember. 9k or 11k. I think it had a small toaster station underneath, too. More than I want to spend but I'll poke around for that brand. One of the problems these days, as I see it, is that I have no idea which brands are reliable anymore. I don't recognize the vast majority of them and the ones I do, like Electrolux, for example, have been sold off to companies that took the name but nothing else. -

Are foreigners taken for granted in Thailand?
"People do because they wanna do" ! They don't do it for gratitude. The fact that you're able to help others should be enough (for most). -

Interview with the Deputy Director-General of the Consular Department about DTV
If they had wanted to make the DTV special with regards to taxation, they would have done so when they created it, as with the LTR visa. They haven't. -

Thai Language Seen as Vital National Symbol, Survey Shows
"Education up to 15 years old in Thailand at government schools is free, the expensive things are school uniforms, which the government helps, with 320-baht ..." Free? Checking out my local CP department store earlier this year, it costs about Baht 1,000 for a full school uniform. Then there is the sports uniform, the scouts uniform, and in some cases another uniform. Baht 320 does not go far. Then there are all the school expenses, such as bus trips to other locations (temples, etc.), stationary, maybe electronic devices, etc. Free? Hardly. And (quality) school meals, don't get me started. -

Outrage Sparked in Thailand Over Apple's 'Out of Office' Advert
They are outraged by this?? They should be happy, it's great! And all Thai people speak English, taxi's are taking them to asked destinations, people are helpful etc. In fact, they should be proud hehe. I guess they do not understand a little parody huh... sadly. -
