Do you have to pay tax on a Bicycle at customs in thailand

I have been living here for  a couple of years , and am going home to renew my marriage visa in London this time ,

When I come back I would like to bring my Cannondale mountain bike, which is about 5 years old. with me

bringing  it as luggage is not a problem , as I will have a 90kg allowance, and a bike bag

My question is will I have to pay the good old customs any import tax, or will I just be able to bring it in, has anybody brought a bike in recently,

Great that our OP got his bike in with no issues.

I suspect that travelling with the bike as luggage will cause no issues whatever, airport customs are after the easy hits, over limit booze and cigarettes (I nearly said "fags" which may confuse our friends from over the pond).

That said, sending the bike unaccompanied or freight could open you to a world of (financial) hurt :(

Just as a bit of added info

For those with golf clubs back in the home country and wanting them over here its the same drill as for the bikes or possibly even  musical instruments.

As long as its one bike or one  set of golf  clubs per person I think that the fact they dont question  your import is because you are allowed to ( temporarily) import sports goods)  as a visitor (Yes even with an extension to stay you are still classed as a temporary visitor)

The goods are not recorded as an import  and therefor whether they ever get taken out of the Country again becomes academic!

does anyone know about importing a used bicycle (over 5 years old) into Thailand via Sea Freight.

I am sending over some boxes, and want to bring bicycle.

Its my first shipment.

I have looked online, and found various answers, some say its free, and others say there is still tax to pay.

Also, same question about a used LED TV, about 3 years old.

cheers
