Non-immigrant O Visa to Retirement extension

I have just one question.

 

Does a retirement extension start (1 year) on the date it's approved or from the expiration of your current visa and sorry this is question number two, how early can you apply for this extension?

It starts from end of current permitted stay (the 90 days allowed on entry when using that non immigrant O visa).  Normally 30 or 45 days early is allowed.

You extension starts from when your current permit to stay ends not the date you apply for it,

You can apply up to 30 days early or 45 days at some offices.
