NAKHON PATHOM — The cola wars appeared to take a literal turn this morning when an Est delivery truck drove from the road a truck for soda rival Pepsi, injuring seven people in a nine vehicle pile-up.

Saroj Somboon, 50, was hauling Est down Petchkasem Road in Nakhon Pathom’s Sam Phran district when he slammed into the slower-moving Pepsi truck, pushing it over the center divider. After rear-ending his soda nemesis, Saroj plowed into the back of six cars waiting at a traffic light, some of which struck vehicles in the adjacent lane.

There's no stopping Est's quest to damage Pepsi.

Luckily no-one died here. A lot of people have lost their lives in the Cola Wars....

....due to diabetes. high blood pressure and heart disease.

The Driver is mad because Pepsi is returning to the market full steam ahead and EST is losing it's market share! He'll probably lose his job!

Starved of news of road accidents for the last few days here I was thinking the bomb scare had suddenly turned bad drivers into good drivers.

However it seems normality has now returned to the roads.

Apparently the sincerest form of flattery is imitation, something which the Thais do so well.

NAKHON PATHOM: -- Six people were injured in a pileup crash that involved four trucks and four sedans in Samphran district of Nakhon Pathom.

Samphran district police said the pile-up collision happened after a six-wheel truck full with soft drink loads of Sermsuk Co developed braking failure while it was heading for Nakhon Pathom town from Samphran.

The truck could not stop when it arrived near the intersection where the other cars and trucks were waiting for traffic light to go.

It rammed at the rear of a truck ahead and caused a pile-up crash that injured six motorists and passengers in these vehicles.

Soft drink truck driver Saroj Somboon told police he tried to stop but couldn’t because the braking system didn’t work.

He was detained pending further questioning.

Among the injured admitted to Samphran hospital is a chief police investigator of Samphran police station Pol Lt Col Chotchuang Panutat.

His pickup truck sat on the roof of a Pajero van after the pile-up crash.

The brakes suddenly failed  !

I have a feeling I've heard this before but struggling to remember when.     :gigglem:

Never brakes fail/fade, it is "brain fade"  :cheesy:
