More than 82,000 people flee Southern California wildfire

Officer stripped of army colonel rank

BANGKOK: -- The Office of the Prime Minister yesterday released an announcement of a royal command stripping the rank of an Army colonel attached to the Crown Prince's Personal Affairs Division for serious misconduct.

 

The announcement signed by Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan was officially published in the Royal Gazette and released to the public yesterday.

 

Stripped of the rank is Col Pongsakorn Rungruang, a state civil servant attached to the Crown Prince’s Personal Affairs Division.

 

The announcement said the officer was stripped of his rank since June 10 this year after he was found guilty of serious misconduct for forging official certification of his rank to submit to the Criminal Court to officially guarantee the temporary release of his relative indicted of body assault.

 

His conduct was a contempt to the court and damaged the reputation of the Crown Prince’s Personal Affairs Division.

Shan parliament to reconsider site of new parliament

HCMC proposes to build a mall under metro station with Japanese firms

Tourist Warning: Don't take photos of airline employees in the UAE

 

DUBAI: -- Tourists visiting places in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) such as Dubai or Abu Dhabi should be aware of not taking pictures of people, including pictures of those working for airlines. Six month in a UAE jail and fines can be the charge for taking photos of someone without permission.

Chief investigator says more than 10 people were involved in arson and bomb attacks
