snoop1130
Thaksin files defamation complaint against Rangsit University rector Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has filed a defamation complaint with the technology crime suppression division against the rector of Rangsit University, Dr Arthit Urairat, on Wednesday. Acting on behalf of Thaksin, former Pheu Thai MP Khattiya Sawatdiphol, told the media that she was authorized by the former prime minister to lodge a complaint against Dr Arthit and a few netizens for accusing Thaksin through Facebook of being involved in the recent spate of arson and bomb attacks in seven southern provinces last week. She said that the violent incidents were an act of cruelty against the Thai society that should not recur. She defended that Thaksin thought likewise and had no intention whatsoever to hurt or to cause any damage to Thailand even though he is living in exile abroad. But when someone made allegations against him, he has the right to defend his reputation, said the former Pheu Thai MP. sweatalot
"had no intention whatsoever to hurt or to cause any damage to Thailand " Yes for sure. We all remember your red shirt attacks where they showed their violent character against Thailand and Thai people during your failed coup and at many other opportunities. They burnt down buildings and wanted to burn down Bangkok. Btw. how can a fugitive criminal file a complaint in Thailand? Let's think that through again. the man lacks the balls to come back because he knows he will face several other charges and have an even longer time in jail, love the way you apologists simply avoid the real truth, pretty pathetic but then with those rings on your ankles what can we expect

Let's think that through again. If sentence was "politically motived" why UK revoke his visa after his conviction, why UK refuse to give him political asylum, why UK froze $4.2 billion of his assets in the UK

halloween
Why would the BIB accept a defamation case from a person who has suffered no damage? More to the point, why wasn't Khattiya charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive?
Eric Loh
The system will protect the rector from any defamation charges. These are good people and systems are engineered to protect these people. Imagine if Prayut or any of his clowns were the recipients of such accusation, they will be bundled of in the night and perhaps commit suicide or die of strange illnesses or slap with a lengthy LM conviction. callaway
Some one sullied his good name? You have got to be joking. You have to have a reputation first before some one can sully it. I don't mean a reputation as a dirtbag either.

Freed1948
As others have said, if he wants to defend his reputation he has every right to do so. Personally IN thailand and not via some lackey whose father was good at taking care of protesters.
