PM rejects suggestion that suspects who defied referendum law be freed

1908005-wpcf_728x409.jpg

BANGKOK:-- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has brushed aside a suggestion by several parties that the suspects detained for defying the referendum law should be freed.

“Did they commit any offence? Asked the prime minister, adding that there is no exception if someone broke the law.

He further said that those who were arrested for defying the referendum law were fully aware that they would be arrested, so they intentionally broke the law in order to get themselves arrested after which they would carry on with their activities abroad.

“Do these people love the country?” he asked.

“The law is the law. The court will decide whether to release them or not,” said the prime minister.

Sadly the youth ""The most passionate sons of Thailand ""are made to suffer...... For daring to object .

The law of righteousness in face of oppressor.

The world powers silently gave up on this man a while back.(PM)
Insidious junta fans posing as pacifists , proclaim anti war messages here...no longer have currency.
Sometimes actions are just.

The Thai people are clearly under oppression .

The world is watching and growing tied. ( of these people)
The military are in for a very eventful few months .
Their lives will be on the line as they try to squash the countries discontent and outrage  at arrests and gaoling s .

These students are true heroes who deserve both empathy and status as role model.

These few voices among Thai men brave enough to stand up for nation and democracy need to be remembered what ever their outcomes.

War is just when the prize is removal of tyranny.

Cambodia ' s  new three year visa ( next month) is sure to also make these military leaders loose some of the longer term travellers or expats unhappy .
The average tourist will hear too of the human rights abuses they commit .

The general needs to know as he sows so shall he reap.

Or Karma is going bite your ass...

“The law is the law. The court will decide whether to release them or not,” said the prime minister.

The law was made by an illegal government so that does not make it legally binding. And as for the courts, well they now work for the illegal government.

Its like the school bully telling you not to go into the toilet because he has the power/strength and therefore can make up his own rules/laws to intimidate the weaker kids.

Therefore the laws made by this military mob are simply self serving and of no benefit to the public, they are bully laws to silence all and any opposition, these people are parade ground thugs suppressing anyone who is different or thinks differently.

Yes the dissemination of obvious lies should be legal in any election or referendum. Bare -faced lying without repercussion is one of the basic human rights liberally employed by the

Shinawatra propaganda machine.

Only the government was lying and they are immune from  any law. I suppose you support the suppression of freedom of speech etc, so better shine them boots mister.

Yes, he must indeed be living not only in a different Thailand, but in a weird, back-to-front universe somewhere beyond all human sight and experience!

One really has to wonder if these people actually believe what they spout. I've come to the conclusion that some of them really do: they are totally deluded. They only see what they want to see - and the 99% of reality which is opposed to their tiny little viewpoint, they block out from their vision (well, if one can use the word 'vision' in connection with such purblind, one-brain-cell thugs) ....

If you remember that was what the government were purposing a while back to save money so they claimed. These kids were making sure that nobody should forget some of the sneaky things that the army were thinking of doing and would have done probably unless stopped. Remember the government have only shelved the single internet gateway temporarily, and they are still thinking about curtailing the old folk's allowance and changing the health care system.

There's no way back for any of the toads because their whole lives are 100% lies, their positions and achievements, their 'reputations' and their assets, their qualifications, their messages, their nationalism and their civility are all lies.

Where did you hear that little lot, Peace TV perhaps?

".. and would have done probably unless stopped. "  Who stopped them? They had 61% support in the referendum. OTOH the lies keep on getting spread.

Firstly the stories were plastered all over the newspapers a while back. The government backtracked at the time after public opinion turned against them. Again ideas temporarily shelved.

And secondly the government ONLY received approx. 26% support from a nation of 60+million people.

These young thinkers should have realized that Thailand is ruled by thought police and corruption of the military and elite is above the law. They should have taken up something else to do with their time that is approved by the authorities like pimping and selling pirated goods. Even sex offenders and monks who steal in Thailand are higher in the social hierarchy than people fighting for the rights of all Thais.

Yes, am looking at that.  Thailand is not doing it for people anymore.  China is more open and welcoming now as well.   Thailand is all about xenophobia and control now.  Sad.

You should produce the link to the content of the mail-out so we can better judge.

And in addition to the fact that only 26% did approve in reality, there was no criticism on the charta allowed. I am not sure how to call this without using un-approved words. For sure not a free vote....

the submarines they are getting from china are very very expensive and that money has to come from, or be cut from spending else where. thailand is under constant attack and needs to build a wall around itself. the subs will operate on the eastern shallow side of thailand. thailands west side will not have a sub wall around it as there is no submarine base on that coast. luckily thailand is not under attack from the western side. on a more serious side has the cheap healthcare really been cut by the last referendum? low blow mr general, a very low blow.

It is clear we have indeed taken the gloves off and are now at the point of no return ( for the military) Firing squad will be the only outcome eventually.

The treason committed in the name of quelling division is a clear farce .

The promises and processes of so called elections and road maps , have given way to naked ambition and oppression.

Opponents routinely arrested and imprisoned .Elderly and young.

This is a pause period where you all get to decide if this place with erupt and your life's are endangered , or if the succession and processes will pass without civil uprising.

The general detests westerners and his Xenophobic speeches do resonate with some.

Spooky times ahead as the Orwellian framework is further entrenched and bogus Polls say the nation loves him.

We shall see .

The Thai people are overwhelmingly happy with the PM's Military Government! After all the corrupt politicians running the show you can hardly blame them. These kids or adults that broke the law need to be held accountable, so throw the book at them. Don't coddle them. There has to be Rule of Order, otherwise you have anarchy, as in the USA with the Blacks!
