PM says talks with Mara Patani may not be on Sept 2nd

BANGKOK, 26 August 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said it was not concluded whether talks with Mara Patani, who represents rebel groups in Thailand’s Deep South, would be scheduled on September 2nd.

General Prayut said the date would be decided by the Thai government. He also urged everyone not to put pressure on the government or make any assumptions. As for the explosions in seven southern provinces, the premier said it could not be concluded whether the attacks were connected to the southern unrest.

General Prayut also stated that there was a group of people trying to stir up hatred against the government. They distributed fake copies of the draft constitution, claiming that the government only supported Buddhism. The premier said authorities are now trying to identify these people and bring them to justice.

Junta justice?
And you speak of untruths?

Could not be concluded ?

But your own mouth pieces accuse them one day print photos of suspects another?

What universe is this ?

You don't want pressure ....stand down hold free elections.
Or expect the west and your own people to rebel against your unlawful irresponsible positioning.

Call a spade a spade....Thailand has an internal war going on and tourists are at risk.

Those Muslims may blacken your stint anytime soon when they hit Bangkok.

Stop denying they intend on blowing stuff up( because of you)

Wouldn't solve anything by kicking the can down the road. The military is not in a position of strength and dialogue is the only chance albeit small window of opportunity. The junta has already make the mistake of ceasing the peace negotiation with the BRN. And you have Toady non helpful innuendo not to negotiate if no peace guaranteed. That will be a pipe dream.

Not decided jointly by the Thai government and the Mara Patana insurgency umbrella organization. That's part of the problem with the military proceeding with any peace talks with the insurgency.

In fact Prayut refuses to even recognize the Mara Patani as the name of the organization representing the insurgents in peace talks - “Why should we accept their demand of how they should be called? You know how many groups there are?"
