Hua Hin Welcomes a New International School

Da Vinci International School (DVIS), an accredited international school, is set to become a window to the world of quality education.

DVIS takes great pride in addressing the development of the whole child, including all aspects of the skill set students need to succeed in the 21st century (intellectual, creative, physical, social, participatory, cultural and moral). The school is still under construction, but the soft opening is slated for September, 2016. The inaugural students are registered and ready to go, although there is still some availability for other students wishing to join this first semester. DVIS aims to develop students who are not only outstanding academically, but also endowed with a wider and deeper sense of social awareness, responsibility and obligation to community. The abilities of all students are supported according to the theory of multiple intelligences. Da Vinci International School will follow the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum, but school officials say the school is not just for British kids. They offer global educational skills for all expatriate kids and local Thai kids. The goal of the school is to provide students with a carefully balanced education.

The mission is to prepare tomorrow’s global citizens and leaders with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need to face, meet and succeed with the challenges of the future. Named after Leonardo da Vinci, the school aims to cover science, engineering, architecture, arts, mathematics, poetry, painting and sculpture in a new and innovative manner. DVIS is committed to the development of an institutional culture that unites promising students, dedicated parents and guardians and professional teachers and educational managers in striving continuously for the highest standards, the best practice and performance and the soundest academic provision in a warm, caring and friendly environment. The curriculum for Nursery, Preschool and Primary classes is reinforced where appropriate with ancillary elements chosen on the basis of their suitability in view of local cultural factors. Students thus receive a blend of global and domestic education which builds on and complements their previous knowledge and their existing cultural identities. Classroom learning will be linked to, and supported by, DVIS’ extensive extracurricular program.

Extracurricular activities will address physical and recreational sectors, as well as educational ones. There are many benefits of joining an international school and obtaining an international education, including use of English as the principal medium of instruction, the ability to impart skills that refine critical thinking, and international school communities tend to be multinational. The main international language is arguably English. That Da Vinci will teach its classes in English, will afford all nationalities a strong background in English. Being a multinational school, students are exposed to a range of cultures from a young age.

This often enhances their confidence and their empathy, and leads to lifelong friendships. DVIS has chosen to follow the CIE curriculum as it has distinguished itself by offering courses suitable for all young people seeking global preparation for university studies, careers and lives. Students from all over the world are welcome to apply to their school, and applications are accepted for review throughout the year. Leonardo da Vinci once famously observed “learning never exhausts the mind”, a sentiment followed by the instructors and staff at DVIS. ‘Emitte lucem et veritatem’- Sending out light and truth.

The school is now up and running. The website is still under development, but far improved. The fees have also been adjusted (there are also scholarships for the first students, which are locked in), and the first phase has been completed; so it has all the necessary buildings for kindergarten and primary classes. It will start with those, and once the second phase is completed for next year (2017) it will accept secondary students too.

It has an open day tomorrow starting at 12:30

Let's see a photo of the foreign teachers holding their WPs....and let's see some western salaries to go with the western tuition.  Otherwise, IMO, it's just another make boatloads of money and drive a Mercedes pipe dream.  I hope I don't see any sweat stained polyester suits in the numerous upcoming photo ops.

If only mainstream schools in Thailand would have access to the same level of education. Alas, this right is only restricted to a privileged few with deep pockets.

I think you need to have a look at their website. (created using  WIX.com.  Create your own for FREE) Or you could always email them on their gmail address.  Be sure to check out their 'meet the teachers page' which doesn't manage to mention as much as a degree in humanities in the entire teaching body.

I'm not sure this is quite the sort of establishment that you are thinking it might be. :D

And I stopped counting the number of spelling and grammar mistakes on their website, as I don't have enough fingers.

They cant even make up their mind if it should be 'enrollment', 'enrolment' or 'enrolement'... I wish them well.

As stated, the website is a work in progress, and is currently in the hands of proffesional website deigners. Most of the pages are currently placeholders for the designers to use. This is a basic template to show them what is needed on the website. Pictures, content, ect. will change, and this is not the finished article. Everything will obviously be proof read and all i's dotted, and as for the email etc, they will change to ac.th.

Please remember, this is a new school and things are under development. Taking the legal path to starting a school requires patience as (legally) steps can only be taken in the currect order.

Oops... correct
