Air Force's female trainees progress to solo pilot training

BANGKOK, 5 September 2016 (NNT) - The Royal Thai Air Force has awarded pilot trainee badges to its first class of female pilots, allowing them to fly on their own during training.

Director of Air Force Operations Air Marshal Bhanupong Seyayongka attended the ceremony to award the badges to two female pilots. Sireethorn Lawansatian received her bachelor’s degree from the Aviation Institute at Rangsit University and her flight training from the Bangkok Aviation Center. Chonnisa Supawannapong received her bachelor’s degree from Kasetsart University and flight training from the Civil Aviation Training Center.

The new trainee license allows the two trainees to progress to the next round of training to fly solo under instructor observation, and learn various air force maneuvers.

Ole adage says "that if female pilot flys upside down, she has nasty crack up."

About time

Talking of pilot training I must admit to getting a bit nervous flying in and out of Udon Thani knowing those jet fighter trainers seem to be constantly buzzing the airport while passenger planes are coming and going. Still it could be worse I could be travelling on a Thai bus without having done the training course on How to Escape From a Burning Bus.
