Bought an iphone cheaply through True Move some months ago, Part of the deal was an upfront payment of 3,000bt for telephone/internet use.

Their internet charges are high, so it was better to ditch the TRUE  sim and use an alternative.

Despite not using the sim at all they keep billing ,me for over 400bt /month in excess of the allowed 300bt from the one off payment.

Buggered if I am going to pay. Nor am I going to call them and try and find someone who can understand what I am on about.

I want to e-mail them -but alas their documents contain no email address.

Does anyone out there have an email address for them?

Thanks

True customer service have English speaking representatives... I've never had an issue communicating in English with them....  Although, as often the issue when dealing with an issue which differs from an every day occurrence you may find yourself faced with the odd "cannot" and "no hab" style of responses...

I have found that in Thailand people are very slow and reluctant to respond to e-mails, especially customer services when facing complaints or complicated issues.

Thanks...but I dislike trying to put a point across on the telephone.

Just wanted to let them know (email easy) that I will not be paying, and that any charges which they think I should pay can be taken from the balance of the original 3,000bt investment.

Can you share any details of your original contract?

Exact details would be great, including phone discount, contract plan, term, prepayment amount and prepayment term. When did you sign up?

What service provider are you using now?

Not sure if you understood that you entered into a contract, or if you understood the terms?

Generally speaking, you got a discount on the phone in exchange for signing up for some term of service (xxx (599/699/799/899) baht/month for 12 months, includes some amount of voice and data), and you prepaid some number of months, typically 10x 300 for 3,000. But the 300 is deducted from the xxx (could be 599/699/799/899 etc.) so you still have to pay net 299/399/499/599 (plus VAT) for the first 10 months, then the full amount for months 11 & 12.

You probably should stop in to a True shop and try to understand what you committed to, then figure a way to sort it out. email may not be the best route for a solution.

Then it seems you have an issue you are not willing to put effort in to solving because you 'dislike' using the phone...

Is your dislike of 'putting your point across on the telephone' greater than your dislike of being charged for excess use ?

You have the power to deal with and solve your own problems or at least get to the bottom of the issue in a relatively simple manner... but it seems you just 'don't want to do it'.... stubbornness such as this only serves to exacerbate an issue...

I wish I'd kept my True mobile bill from 2004 or so... When Blackberries had just been introduced, you needed a special package in order to have internet access that was not billed by the minute (as these were the first devices to do this!). Anyway, after a year of service, they put me back on the old plan, and evidently sent an SMS about it, in Thai, which I ignored. And ended up with a 84,000 Baht phone bill.

Long story short, after a lot of pleading with customer service and playing the dumb farang card, they agreed to knock the bill down to 10%. And I went back to a "dumb" phone!

So, reading this post about "excessive use" makes me want to both laugh and cry :P

To the OP,  don't be an idiot like me, get this cleared up while you can.

and turn OFF the Mobile Data if you want to stop it getting worse.

Those smart phones have pretty heavy housekeeping data handshaking going on all the time 24/7

I now only let my smartphone use Internet, when I am in some wifi network...

If the monthly bill is for the same amount even though the sim card is not being used then is it possible that you signed up for a package which is still valid ie you did not close the account?
