BANGKOK, 19 September 2016 (NNT) – Thai students have clinched 5 awards from the 2016 World Bond Robot Contest in Taiwan, beating out contestants from 140 countries.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education Dr. Kamjorn Tatiyakawee has congratulated and handed out medals to Thai students who brought the Kingdom pride by bringing home a total 5 awards from the 2016 World Bond Robot Contest.

The contest, which took place in Taiwan, used Gigo electronic systems for competition and took place under the theme “Preparing for Natural Disasters”. The competition required that participants use their creativity and engineering skills to tackle real world problems. Thailand was represented by students from 7 schools, selected from a roster of 52, who competed against fellow students from 140 countries across the globe.
