Hey Folks!

I need to head back to Canada for a month and want to bring back some Thai cigarettes to save me a lot of money on cigarettes in Canada.

1) is it legal?

2. How many cartons can I bring back?

If you know, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks in advance

Canadian customs law is rather strange.  Yes, you are only permitted to bring into Canada 200 cigarettes.  But you are ALSO permitted to bring in x grams of tobacco (no definition as to what kind...)  AND 50 cigars.

I guess that's an International thing. One carton, or 200 fags.

Nope, many countries allow more, and many allow less - there is no set standard.

Would I say yes, you'd say no and vice versa. Let's put it this way then: " Most custom regulations of countries world wide  only allow 200 cigarettes, or one carton.

You might have read something about European law, which has got nothing to do with the OP's question.

Then you're allowed to have 4 cartons, or 800 cigarettes. Please tell all of us where the laws are different and you actually did something that makes sense. .

        Can you proof your post?

Philippines - 400

Vietnam - 400

Argentina - 400

Fiji - 250

And various other countries too - so yes! I can prove my post.  :-)
