Is Thailand Value for money
I think the number is more like 60% plus, obese and overweight, and I saw it daily training in a few gyms, along with daily living there. Pharma doesn't give a rat's ass what Americans do, as long as they use their drugs. After all these years, I've gotten it down to a science of what to east and what not to,and it's worked for me and many others I've given advice to. You can't trust much in this world. -

Moldova Accuses Russia of Voter Bribery to Block EU Integration
This can't be correct! Russia interfering in a neighbouring state's affairs? Say it ain't so, Vlad and we can then all rest easy. -

Is Thailand Value for money
Just google the health stats from the US more than 40% are obese and diabetes. Much of the developed world too went to fake foods put out by the big food companies in the late 1900's and working with big Pharma to keep Americans unhealthy and need of drugs to keep the symptoms at bay and the pharma owners richer and richer. For healthy foods read Dr. William Li's two books on the research that has been carried out recently. Books cite proven tests, which fruits or veggies are the best for health and preventing diseases. No need to give up flavors either as all that he mentions tastes great and locally available in Thailand. -

NO sugar, not LOW sugar. Yours had alcohol sugars added. The Norwegian example had nothing added. You are in serious denial because you have convinced yourself that you already know everything. But you understand very little. Corporates rule the roost over there and have the rules bent in their favour. That's why we in Europe fight to keep our food standards and refuse your crap. -

Corruption scandal hits the brakes: Thailand’s bus industry whistleblows dirty dealings
You make good points but, running in parallel with the corruption in the Transport Ministry and Department of Land Transport which I mentioned yesterday, we have the same in the Education Department. Funds are provided for everything, including educational trips, but first the minister, another Chidchob, will take a cut for him and his staff (why else would an expoliceman be Minsiter of Education?), then the School Director will take a cut him/herself and staff, and what is left must pay for the bus so it goes to the cheapest operator, who provides a 54 year old death trap spruced up with paint, stickers, and ornaments to look "new". On another parallel line we have the Ministry of the Interior, Khun Anutin, who has been filling his own pockets for years, and now oversees the police. As noted here many times the senior police officers buy their positions to get the returns, while the juniors have to buy their own uniforms and equipment, so are only interested in the many ways of lining their own pockets, and no one is enforcing the laws. I agree with others, that only something like a revolution, or a major political movement from FFP/MFP/PP as long as they can stay clean, seems to have a chance of bringing about change. In the past, even the Democrat Party, led by Chuan Leekpai who was demonstrably clean, was tainted by the other members who were needed to fund the party, like Suthep Thaugsuban. It remains to be seen if (i) the FFP/MFP/PP line can finally get the election support they need, and (ii) if they can find enough honest people, with enough private wealth or income, to take on the senior government roles without needing to fill their own pockets. Quite a big ask. -

Boeing Successfully Completes First Flight of Thailand’s First AH-6 Little Bird Helicopter
Gracious me, anyone would think you know what you're talking about! Anyway, the border with Myanmar is 2400 km long. These little helos have a range of 450km, and there are 8 of them, so coverage is going to be a little patchy! Mind you, the "Praetorian Guard" based in and around Bangkok, which amounts to a reasonably well equipped armoured infantry brigade group, with modern armour and self propelled artillery, would find them quite useful. The rest of the army is equipped with leftovers from the Vietnam war, and their mobility and deployability is constrained by the availability of tour buses to move the troops. -

I agree about the additives, and have tried to stay away from them as much as possible bit it isn't easy, especially if you want to drink no sugar drinks. If you ask a restaurant to prepare something a certain way, they'll honor it. Here they don't understand too well. Pesticides are used all over so you have to wash everything before you eat it. -
