Sure not so many planes can do that nonstop,

Boeing 777-200/300 is a popular choice for long hauls.

https://www.thrillist.com/travel/nation/nonstop-flights-20-longest-flights-in-the-world-ranked-by-mileage

Curious though that Thai Airways has a limit for its charter flights not to exceed 6 hours maximum flying time.

Aircraft                     Capacity                Maximum Flying Hours

Airbus 320-200         170s                                       4

A330-300                     285s                                       6

B777-200                     285s                                       6

Either Thai Airways waived its maximum flying hours (maybe violate ICAO regulations?) or the flight was not nonstop, ie., 2-6 hour segments? The flight was not flown by military pilots and both cabin staff and manifest included civilians that might otherwise not justify exemption on the grounds of a dedicated military use.

Two months !

That's a lot of creative accounting.

Is he taking a Mia Noi or 2 along. Seeing how this is in the lime light maybe the exact bill will be close to reality instead of padded. We are watching.

In this case it's ' fly now and the nation pays later '.

There wouldn't have been any delay if it were not for the details being released on social media.

All would've simply happened according to plan. It's hard for some to realize times have changed regarding information availability and even harder to accept the plebs may no longer accept everything they are told.

Your last sentence is a recipe for more control if the junta feels it's grip is slipping.

One of the big issues with PTP was the outlandish excuses they came up with - starting off with simple denials and then offering more and more elaborate justifications. All facts kept secret but the excuses were so unbelievable - deny and if exposed then invent tales. They lost the plot as we know and all semblance of control with it.

Now things are simply denied and dismissed. No attempt to show that the accusations are false, or explain anything.

Same same but different.

There's a few that will never admit to being duped and not really knowing what has been going on since the beginning. They are just too deep in now to get back out.

I find it quite fascinating that educated Westerners actually believe that this junta is a better option for Thailand.

Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the Thammasat University massacre, and subsequent cover-up that has never been fully investigated. I didn't see a single article on here while it was extensively covered by BBC, Reuters and even CNN.

Mustn't upset the overlords. Why else must we not accurately describe Thailand's current system of government on the forum?

It used to be that the senior officers involved in the massacre went on a trip at this time of the year, usually to China.

Not sure how many of them are still around now.

if there isn't going to be any gravy

maybe they will spill the beans

When it comes down to it the junta and their spokespeople don't have to care what they say because they expect to be believed and if anyone protests too much or digs too deep, well ... !

Yep, and it has already been OK'd by him on high!

A bit off topic but there is an interesting Financial Times article about the 40th anniversary here

https://www.ft.com/content/244a9ea8-8a00-11e6-8cb7-e7ada1d123b1

This story has it all.

It won't go away in 2 months any more than the question of CupOCha's family jewels, or his buddies' Statue Park.

Found out with nowhere to go, their lifestyles are doomed.

But Thaksin

is to blame because he cleverly told the reds to play dead so the junta could more clearly bring it on themselves...

:WPFflags::wub::annoyed::cheesy::burp::drunk::hit-the-fan:

It doesn't take a bunch of Western expats to figure out this magnitude of nonsense.
