Refused marriage extension monthly income and WP

Recommended Posts

Thanks for everyone's input on this. I've decided to go back next month with 3 months tax evidence and print out the relevant police orders and try again. The current 2 month extension they gave me expires on 10th Dec. Do I have to wait until the 10th or can I try before?

Thanks

You can apply for the extension up to 30 days before the 10th of December.

If anybody knows of any around here I could look into it. I'm not looking to do anything ilegal but would be nice to have somebody who knows the law and stand up to these people.

go get a new visa instead of an extension, might be allot easier. Nothing says you need to get an extension of stay. I used to get a new B visa each year when I went back to the states instead of getting an extension of stay.

????

No one is saying agents are illegal.

They seem to get the required stamp.

Do you want to stay in LOS, or stick to your "principles"?

Exiting the country to get a new visa would probably cost the same as an agent.

Actually in many cases agents are acting illegally and stamps would not be valid if how there were obtained is found out - and this has happened to people in the past and will likely continue to happen.  Agents who handhold and advise what paperwork is required and go with you to obtain extensions are likely acting within the law as long as you meet the qualifications.  But those that offer other services are probably best avoided.

I heard that 20 years ago, but they are still here and I dont see them going anywhere.

So many people come to Thailand and dont know anything about visas, extensions etc and rely of agents to assist them. There

are honest agents that follow the rules and then agents that take short cuts.

I recall back in 2001 maybe 2002 they cracked down on agents at that time. It was well known that agents would take passports

with them to Malaysia boarder and get the passport stamped in and out, but then someone got greedy and decided to make their own stamps

and started stamping passports. They got caught and the govt cracked down on things.  Dont think this can be done anymore since Thailand started computerizing immigration info.
