Home Security Alarm System

I have read a few very old threads on the above but they weren't much help unfortunately. I am interested in getting an alarm system installed at our house. Does anyone know any companies here in CM that are good and they can share details of approx costs and contact details.

 

I would prefer someone to do the install as I am completely useless at these sort of things so whilst I can source the system myself if someone recommends where to buy the stuff, I would still require a competent installation guy.

 

Secondly, I have noticed a lot of people seem to have some sort of metal caging/frame around their windows, presumably this is to deter burglars. Can anyone advise how much this sort of thing costs e.g. for a standard double size window say, and is it an effective deterrent in TM's view?

I would recommend going to housing developments after sales service offices and ask them for information about the home security systems they install.   I know some one them install good perimeter alarms with motion sensors inside during construction.   Those same companies most likely have the ability to add such systems on finished houses, including remote viewing CCTV over the internet.
